What are your thoughts on pre-park opening breakfasts? WE booked a cinderella's royal table breakfast for 8:10am. WE also booked a CRT lunch the same day just in case they change park hours. Have you been to a PPO breakfast? Was it worth getting in early? I admit the thought of strolling down main street without the crazy crowds is appealing. HOwever, I also know I"ll stress about getting there in time. WE have a car, so we have the option of parking at TTC and taking monorail over... or we could just take the disney bus. I don't know that we will get much of a jump on incoming crowds at park open as i anticipate us not being done with the breakfast until 9:10.

On our last trip, we did PPO at BOG (twice), Akershus, and Tusker House.
BOG was great because it was fast. We had near-empty Main Street photos and rode 7DMT before the RDers.
Akershus didn't give us an advantage for FEA. We were in the first 5-10 tables seated, but the princesses didn't start circling until like 8:20am. We finished eating but had to wait for Ariel to come by. Huge line was already formed for FEA when we walked out, but we had no wait at the Sommerhaus.
Our Tusker House day was the only day we had slow bus service. We made it on time for out 8:15am ADR and there was a completely deserted walk back to the restaurant. I was hoping for a Photopass Photog for a picture in front of the Tree, but there was no one! We finished right at 9am and walked on to the safari.
Summary: I love PPO breakfast but know that they may or may not give you any ride advantage. It's nice to be already in the park at open though, and already full & ready to go!
We've done ppo breakfasts the last 2 trips. Love them to get a jump on crowds!! We liked bog because it's fast ( quick service, and you can preorder online) plus it's right near 7dmt and Peter Pan... So you can head right to those as soon as you're done. Garden grill ppo at Epcot was good too since it's right near soarin :-)
I have done lots of PPO breakfasts. I always arrive at like 7:45 & have plenty of time for that stroll up MS & some castle photos.
I ask for the check before I sit down to eat. I am always done & waiting to ride rides before the RD crowd.
And you've met all the characters on time for character meals and been out before RD crowds?
Because we've no joke done Crystal Palace every single trip (so 5 trips with DD1) and been checked in at the restaurant before 8 after taking pictures and we end up waiting for one freaking character for 30+ minutes every time. And trying to tell two preschoolers lets go when they can see the character means a meltdown. We waited for Piglet for 40 minutes on Wednesday. My husband was about to lose it. Pooh even came around a 2nd time before Piglet.
If PPO Crystal Palace wasn't a tradition for us (usually our last day except when Disney likes to change park hours 2 weeks out) I would stop doing it.

Kinda... I think we left once wot you meeting someone, but most of the time it's been fine. Maybe I have the luck at CP. My kid also really prefers rides over characters so the only time I've ever HAD to wait for a character for him was for Stitch at Ohana who takes forever bc his picture is included in Memory maker.
So do you all cab/uber it to ppo breakfast or rope drop? These morning logistics are keeping me up at night! I can picture us waiting for hours for a bus and me and my husband screaming at each other when hours slip by. Sounds anti magical!

We have done CP maybe 8 times for PPO. About half of those times, we see all the characters, and the other half, we miss one (usually Eeyore, for some reason), but I make my family leave by 8:40 for 9 am park opening to make sure we beat the crowds. We always have an 8:05 reservation.
This next trip, though, we are doing one morning at CP and another morning that's the Early Morning Magic Fantasyland. I would not do a PPO breakfast on an Early Morning Magic Fantasyland day (not EMH - the ticketed breakfast event).
We had PPO at BOG and the deserted park was awesome. Best part of the trip and there were photogs out.
Too bad the breakfast sucked.
This. I have a PPO BOG booked right now that I'm probably going to cancel because the last time we went we disliked the food so much. It sucks though because I loved the empty park and early ride on 7DMT.
