I had a prescription for retin-a. My bottle is almost gone and I'm pretty sure my derm won't just call in a refill and will want to see me so it will be a 45 copay and then the prescription cost (which I'm not sure what that would be). Is there any department store or drugstore brands that are good? I don't care if it's $ or $$$. I just want a good retinol. Thanks!
The generic tretinoin .05% that I get from the mail order pharmacy I use was $55 (rite care). And the tube is huge. So that would cost you $95 (ETA: I mean $100. Fucking math), and would likely last you 3 times as long as an OTC retinol cream. Just a thought.

the FDA approved 1% differin (a retinol) for over the counter use. I still have my full prescription but I imagine I'm going to this route when done.
Eta: my bad, I read all the announcements but I just checked and despite approval in April there is no in store release date yet.
