CNN was breaking down her and Bill's wearing of the color purple: The color of spirituality The color of mourning The color of bipartisanship (red + blue) The color of suffragettes
Maybe everyone can wear purple on inauguration day.
I was planning to see if my girlfriends wanted to get together for a day of volunteering on inauguration day. That seems like a vacation day well spent--and I like the idea of wearing purple too!
I need the quote of the little girl line. I was crying too much to really remember it.
"And to all the little girls watching this, never doubt that you are valuable and powerful and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world to pursue and achieve your own dreams."
I have children playing in my yard right now. 3 little girls from 3 different families. Not one of whom had a mom or dad who voted for Clinton. I can't help but watch them and shake my head in anger. They deserve better.
I really thought that one of them had a liberal-ish family. DS1 told me that her DD had told him that her and her mom were voting Clinton. But I sort of hedged into it today and expressed my disappointment with the election (hoping for an ally) and she said she didn't like Trump, but she was glad for a change. Sigh.
I really want to reach out to one of my favorite kids in the hood. He is African American, 10 or 11, and was adopted last year into a LEO family. He is such a great kid, I hope they are sensitive to him.
And one of the older sisters came over and I told her I had heard that she was staying up late to watch the election. She said yes and now Donald Trump is president. I said yes he is and she said well that is better than Hillary Clinton. She should be in jail. She is a criminal. I feel so alone and sad in this.
