The first post in the forum right now is "I'm struggling, y'all" by EnchantedSoul and I think it is a sentiment shared by all after the events of this week. I know incogneato mentioned that she didn't write for a couple days on her blog and I added two more days of not writing this week, bringing my total to 4.Last year, I made the daily average every day until
Last year, I made the daily average every day from the 1st to 27th so this is rough. It also doesn't help that Facebook is reminding me that I once hit 50k on the 10th and that I was at 52k that same year, whereas I just got in the 20k to hit the goal average today.
1) What is your current word count? If you not doing NaNo, what are you currently writing?
2) Do you have a clear vision of where your story is going?

I'm still struggling. All of the hate people are spewing is clogging up the news and social media. I haven't attempted to write since last week (this is not unusual for me). 1. Not doing NaNo but I'm working on what I hope will be my first Children's Book.
2. Vision is still a little cloudy in regards to the entire story and how the hell to fit all that I have to say in 500-800 words 😝 For the first time ever, I can clearly see characters and scenes from the story. It's really awesome.

1) What is your current word count? If you not doing NaNo, what are you currently writing? 22k, so just over par for today.
2) Do you have a clear vision of where your story is going? I know this book and a general idea of the overall series arc. I'm still struggling, even with chapters broken down by POV and the plot/subplots arced out.
3) What is your drink of choice while novelling? Peppermint hot chocolate. I did writing meet ups weekly in November and sporadically throughout the year at a Starbucks in university so I think I've been conditioned to associate it with writing.
Hugs to everybody who needs them. The election threw off me and sent me down the CEP rabbit hole, so I'm impressed at anybody who has been writing through this at all.

I'm still sitting at about 4000, I haven't written in over a week. I've been completely and 100% derailed by the election.
2) Do you have a clear vision of where your story is going?
Mostly. I have a few details that aren't clear to me, but things seem to keep working out as I write, so if I actually get to writing I think they'll work themselves out.
3) What is your drink of choice while novelling? Nothing in particular; I drink ice water most of the time with everything.

I'm writing a scene where one character is teaching another about guns, but I know nothing about guns. Never touched one. Actually, never seen one up close out of its holster. Now is not the time for research so I feel like a Trump supporter while writing this: "Facts? Who needs facts? I can make up whatever I want and say it's true and nobody will know the difference!"
Has the election result kind of killed it for anyone? I feel so much less motivated in general right now. I'm sure I'll snap out of the funk but I'm kind of like, f^%$ it all, what's the point.
So I totally forgot about this board because I'm used to it being on the main page during November. I've been depressed all all month since my uncle passed away somewhat suddenly and was buried on the 1st. What a way to start my noveling month.
I'm just under 20k today, so not too far behind.
My plot and pacing are going fine. I'm finally getting into the better stuff now, so I've been getting more words done.
I write at Starbucks every day, but I've been meeting a group at Coffee Bean twice a week too. I love my holiday drinks.

So sorry for you loss.
But also, great job on your word count! I'm jealous of your coffee house group... though to be honest there are coffee house write in groups here too, but the timing doesn't work for me. Excuses, excuses, right?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels wrecked by the election. This year just wasn't meant to be for me. But I am going to hopefully be part of revision January, I have a novel I'm s-l-o-w-l-y revising. I could use some motivation there.

fatamy Thank you! This is the first year in 3 or so that I've had a group close enough to attend. I live in a gigantic city, so it's hard to get a write-in in my specific area. Lol It's motivating and we do a few word wars, which helps a lot!
