Before this week mr and I were looking to buy a home in Atl/East Point but now we're reconsidering if we want to be tied down. I was looking forward to being closer to a culture we can relate to and appreciate, but it's still the south. We're trying to be prudent but I'm feeling so off and emotional.
I suppose I'm looking for suggestions, thoughts, motivation. Our lease is up 12/31 so I'm trying to pep-talk myself into action.
I'm in ATL and not far from that area. Its diverse and mostly liberal from what I've seen in the last 10 years I've been in this area but it is still the south. I think you should spend some time in the area and see how you feel. I like some of the East Point/College Park neighborhoods off Main St. and would move there if it was an option for me. Not sure what else I can add...

I'm in ATL but in the burbs now, but I have family in that area. Its a mix these days. All of the professors I work with seem to me moving and buying in East Point, so its starting to become more diverse and becoming very gentirfied. I feel like the biggest concentration of us is in the Eastern burbs. In-town is changing so much. We own a home near the new stadium and I can just feel it creeping in.
