7.9 New Zealand earthquake, 3 tsunami waves

A 7.9 earthquake has hit 50 miles north of Christchurch, triggering three tsunami waves.

Amazingly, the damage seems minimal so far.

It seems like nothing short of a miracle that the damage is minimal and there appear to be no fatalities.

I'm glad we visited Christchurch before the major earthquakes few years ago. There are many places I want to visit b/c I'm afraid global warming will permanently destroy/degrade them, but I'd also get to NZ before it shakes it self off the earth if you haven't been

I'm glad the damage is minimal. That city has already had a rough go of it with earthquakes!

We were in Christchurch two years ago, and they're still only in the beginning stages of rebuilding the downtown from the 2011 earthquakes. Seeing the ruins of the cathedral was so sad.
