Miss Patty looked very different. I''m wondering if she's ill and they just had her on for a second, far away, just to get her in, but maybe she couldn't actually work.
Wait what? Gypsy is the maid?
Yep. Gypsy is also playing Berta.
Liz Torres (Miss Patty) lost over a hundred pounds a few years ago. She's not sick, I think she just has a lot of extra skin from the weight loss. Her face was always kind of droopy with the weight, it's just even more so without it.
I don't go here, I just came looking for a place to discuss GG. Hi

I don't think any of us go here lol
Liz Torres was a delight on GGuys but she definitely had some memory problems. I do hope she's just old.
LOL, after seeing the picture Wambam (I think?) posted in the other thread I was pleasantly surprised with Luke's hair in the actual episode.
I really liked Winter! Alexis scared me at first (she kind of looked like she was reading off a cue card in that opening scene), but I think she picked up over the course of the episode. The funeral flashback scenes were so sad and wonderful (and the car scene made me think of Wes Anderson). And I kind of enjoy the Paul storyline and the scene with Lorelai being awful after the funeral and subsequent fight because they ARE mean. Lorelai and Rory were never particularly nice people, and it was really great seeing Emily call Lorelai on so much stuff.
I think I missed something with Michel though, did they address his sexuality?

Someone posted it for me and I was entirely disturbed by it haha.

To me it just looked like Miss Patty lost a lot of weight.

I also don't like the Paul storyline. I don't see Rory dating a guy for TWO YEARS when she barely knows/likes him. And the Logan stuff took me by surprise. I can see a one off, but like a set thing?? Weird.

I agree with the general take on Paul, Rory, the surrogacy, etc but I just wanted to add that I'm relieved with the way they handled Emily and the Konmari stuff. I was worried from the preview that she'd gone completely out of character with the t shirt and jeans, but it was done in a believable way for me.
I'm also thrilled Michel has a husband.
Was anyone else surprised Lorelei and Luke never got married?

I'm not. I can believe they were like "we were good before and then we decided to get married and everything went to crap, so let's not push that now..."
I finally got to watch Winter last night. The timeline felt a bit weird with Rory flitting about between Stars Hallow and London constantly and was kind of annoying, but I was really enjoying the rest of it.
Paris being her crazy intense self and making comments about Luke and Zack's balls was hilarious, as was Kirk being a kook with the pig and playing soccer with the kids at Emily's house, and Taylor's* rant about the wifi password in Luke's (although I feel like his "Taylor voice" isn't quite right - he sounds different to me, and party of it seems like maybe he had a cold, but part of it also seems like he forgot how to do the voice he had been doing for the role).
Kelly Bishop looks great and is really knocking it out of the park so far.
*I have a special love for Michael Winters because one year I kept randomly seeing him in plays. My H took to me to see Becky's New Car in Seattle and he was in that, and then we went to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and he was in The Merchant of Venice. The next year (or the year after?) I made a special trip to Ashland specifically so I could see him play King Lear - he's really a fabulous actor.

I was so confused with the timeline too, like she's in Stars Hallow for one day then back to London but then she's at Emily's for dinner. I think the dinner was supposed to be later on but it felt like they didn't do a good job showing/explaining the time movement.

Yeah it took me a minute to figure out where Logan lived since Rory seemed to be back in SH in short order.

I only got through Winter this weekend.
Overall I liked it, but a few things stood out as out of character.
Luke's hair??? OMG, so bad lol.
I don't like this Paul storyline at all. Plus he does not even seem like he would be someone Rory would date, let alone for years.
I also didn't like the fertility stuff, seemed out of place. And when they were talking about kids they talked about him having one of his own, they didn't mention April did they? Unless they did and I missed it.

I was also confused on Rory going back and forth.
He did but the weird thing is that Lorelai mentions that he'll never see his kid graduate. He responds that he saw Rory graduate and she tells him it's not the same. Would he (& Lorelai?) not have flown to New Mexico to see April graduate from HS (or, really, it would have been in Connecticut since the move wasn't an ASP storyline) or gone to Massachusetts to her college graduation?

I have only watched this one, and I am now questioning why I ever liked this show. There was nothing likable about any character except Emily. Even Luke acted like an overgrown teenager. I think I'm too old for this, but will likely watch the rest of the episodes just to have closure.
