I think Logan was only supposed to be a fling, she was going to break up with him, go back to Dean yet again and he was supposed to be her Christopher. He proposes, she says no, graduates Yale and works in NYC or whatever city Jess lives in, refusing to settle down for a life in stars hollow, where of course her mom would want her (like Emily did for loralei). I think Logan was supposed to be her Digger- not quite her style yet an equal in so many ways, he challenged her comfort zone, lived in the same world as The Gilmores, and should've made sense but it didn't.
I actually am team Logan but I don't think she meant to write it that way.
I really don't think this is the end she planned. There is NO FUCKING WAY she wanted Rory to be knocked up at 22-23.
I think it makes more sense than 32, actually. Before Rory was able to get too self sufficient and it made sense that she had to strike out on her own, like her mom did.
I believe those were supposed to be the last 4 words, but I imagine at the end of season 7 they would have done a flash forward of Rory telling Lorelai, not immediately during graduation.

But Rory is NOT self-sufficient at all at the end of AYITL. She's working for free at the Gazette, living at home, and can't afford underwear! And she can't seem to hustle to get a job like Loreali did at a much younger age. She almost has no choice but to tell Logan, unless we're supposed to assume she is going to finally get a stable job or actually TRY.

This crossed my mind. Like. You have a degree from Yale. You can get a job dude. Lol. May not be high profile, but you don't have to work for free.
Rory has a trust fund right? So while she says she is broke, she still probably doesn't have an urgent need to take any job. And I think that she just couldn't find her underwear, not that she couldn't afford new ones.

Lorelai was always so driven. Rory is nothing like that in actuality, even though people tell her she is. She didn't even come prepared for that interview with Sandy Says. She totally expected it to be handed to her. Lor has her own entitlement issues, but not like that.
I really don't like Rory, can you tell?
It's truly not even the pregnancy trope that bothers me, it's that they "ended" it that way (or will continue, which I don't like either). If it would have come out sooner in AYITL, I actually think that would have made for a much more interesting Rory storyline.

I go back and forth on the whole damn thing but UGH Rory. Ignoring the whole cheating/boyfriend/Logan business and her work entitlement issues, she is awful to Lorelai. For all of her personal faults, I do think Lorelai was a good mother and truly did the very best she could for Rory. For Rory to act all entitled about using Lorelai's personal life for her own gain via the book and then announcing her pregnancy to her mom on the steps as her mom is basking in the joy of finally being married and being secure in what she wants out of life is just the worst. Lorelai did all that for her and Rory is just an entitled brat about it. And, at 32, I don't think we can fully blame Lorelai's parenting for that. It's on Rory.
I think ASP knew how she wanted it to end (full circle) but she didn't know when the series would end. I know reports say that the main cast was ready to move on and that ASP/DP wanted to be able to pursue other projects but if they could have reached an agreement, GG may have gone on longer than just Season 7.

I'm also really sad about how we leave Paris (and Doyle). They were supposed to be THE power couple. They were so perfect. I loved seeing Paris, but I hated how she ends up. Paris herself and her job felt true to character, but her life and divorce did not.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."

I was absolutely convinced halfway through the fall season that the final forwards would be something along the lines of "a book? Our story."
That would've been a awesome way to end the series, and it would have made complete sense for this to be a side project that began at the college assignment during season seven.
Again, the real final four words made me want to throw my phone at the wall
i just finished watching and i am mad now. i feel like ASP was messing with us.
i always thought rory made terrible decisions and these 4 movies only proved it. get your life together rory!
i think her conversation with her father gives us a clue to how she handles it. i dont think she tells logan until later, and keeps logan out of her life and her child's life.

It made me sad that Paris said her children preferred the nanny over her, but it makes sense in a way. If Rory's life is going to mirror Lorelai's, it looks like Paris' relationship with her children is mirroring her own with her mom.

I laughed so hard when Paris said " the children cry when the nanny leaves, and so do I".

I will confess that we got hit so hard by the sharp turn from this lovely private wedding to just the shittiest ending of all time, that my SO (also a Gilmore girls fan) and I both immediately went to the kitchen and started drinking straight vodka before jumping on our respective message boards to bitch about it.
I've heard on Gilmore Guys before that ASP really dislikes the fans who are super into the show, and I thought it was some running joke, but now I think she actually does kind of hate us.
