wanderingenough - I'm frustrated with the number of story lines that were introduced and then never completed. Paris was great, but her story line just got dropped halfway through. The last conversation she and Rory had was just weird, and then we never saw her again.
I didn't like how mean-spirited so many of the jokes were. I wonder if I've outgrown the show, because it never bothered me during the original series like it bothered me watching the new series.
Yes! That wasn't funny at all. Also, all of the conversations by the pool during Summer.
RIGHT! I almost blocked that out because I watched last night and have moved on to being so annoyed by the fall episode.
Yeah, I think Summer pushed it over the edge for me. At first, I thought maybe I just didn't have the right sense of humor to understand the Paul thing, but the body shaming at the pool was awful.

Ok, this will be long. Ha! First, I can't stand Rory. When I watched the series when I was younger, I always felt like Rory was kind, hard working, driven, -like she wouldn't hurt anyone. I realized watching the series again when I was older that both Gilmore Girls are really self-centered. Especially Rory. She didn't care about people's feelings (Lindsey, etc.) and here we are back at square 1 with Paul and Oddet. I'm Team Logan, but you turned his ass down. There is no "what happens in Vegas" when you are freaking 32 years old, he is like 35, and he is ENGAGED!
I missed Richard. I wish they had done this reboot like 5 years ago so he could have been in it.
I loved how they played out Emily's character. It was a little unbelievable, but grief changes people.
They might as well have skipped bringing back Sookie. She and Lorelei had no chemistry. It was so awkward.
Why if we clarified Michel's sexuality did none of the Stars Hollow gang suggest him for the parade?
I get the POINT of the final four words -- like, Lorelei sacrificed everything to raise this golden child, put her through school, college, and give her the life she couldn't have--and here we are in the same position: single mom with absent dreamy, adventurous, but ill-fit wealthy baby daddy. Still stupid and I hated it.
ETA: Oh, also -- freaking Lorelei. You couldn't call Emily to grab a chopper to come to the ceremony or something? After you had your Wild/Telephone moment? Grow up.

Just finished today. Overall I liked some parts, and hated others. My favorite was Emily, but some of things she said to Lorelei, if I were Lorelie I think I would have told my mother to fuck off.
I so mad at Rory about the whole Logan thing. You are a grown 32yr old women, you knew he was engaged, don't get mad because you are the side piece.
Maybe it's just me, but I didn't care for the whole "I wonder who is gay so we can have a parade." I half expected that a drag queen was be at the town hall meeting.
And who wrote that damn letter!?!?!
Oh, and what are the odds that the baby is half wookie??? :0
OKAY!!! I finally have some free time today to finally respond!
I cried, I laughed, I was angered, confused, happy... Overall I was happy I watched but I won't ever watch again.
Some parts were horrible (summer pool side) totally disrespectful and uncalled for. I loved Emily, Paris, Luke! Emily's storyline was my ultimate favorite. She was the highlight for me.
Paris was hilarious, bummed they didn't continue her storyline.
The ending took me by surprise, I must be dense I didn't see it coming. I suppose I wasn't paying attention to all the subtext prior to that reveal. Rory and Lorelei were just so irritating they never thought of ANYONE but themselves. It was infuriating.

So I know that they want us to think the baby is Logan (or the wookie's), but I was thinking about something. When Rory was interviewing the lines folks (was that the same day she slept with the Wookie?), she fell asleep for some reason on the street and didn't know why. That was way earlier in the year though, right? Is it possible she was already pregnant when she slept with the wookie (by Logan or Paul) and didn't realize it yet and that's why she fell asleep? Like she was hitting first tri fatigue? Surely she would have been showing by Lorelai's wedding though, right? And maybe she drank after that? I clearly didn't pay attention well.
wanderingenough - I feel like there were a lot of moments that didn't make sense. Like Rory falling asleep in the middle of an interview. There didn't seem to be any context for that. Also, what about the article she was doing that interview for? Did she ever write it? Did they love it? Did they hate it?
And April's freak out in Rory's room. She shows up, she freaks out, and then we never see her again. WTF? And how it seemed like when Rory and Paris ran into each other they hadn't talked in ages, yet Rory has been taking the time to keep in touch with Doyle and knows all about his life? WTF? AND THE SURROGATE THING! "Let's do it." "Let's not." "-sigh- Okay. -pout-" and then it was never addressed again. WTF?
The more I think about it, the more disappointed I am. I kind of wish I hadn't watched it.

katespade - Yes! So many! I am really annoyed with the whole thing and feel like either they are setting it up to be like a Fuller House and they will come back to all those lose strings at some point down the line with a series, or they SUCK as writers.
With April--When Lorelei is trying to discuss kids with Luke, she is all "don't you want to see your OWN kid graduate?!" Uhhh, he could have. He met April when she was like 12. I'd imagine he went to her hs graduation all of like a year ago.
