I think we're getting ILs a new modem for their internet because theirs sucks, lol. May or may not also get her a shirt or necklace depending on the modem cost.
MIL wanted to do homemade/second hand gifts this year.
I'm giving her a brand new set of metal mixing bowls with rubber bottoms. I was gifted them for my wedding and have never used them because I can't stand metal on metal sounds. They are really nice and I know she will love them. I'm hoping to make a rice heating pad for her if I can get out my sewing machine. I will also get some pictures printed for her from our newborn/family session we just had.
I have been assigned "something to wear" for her. Lucky me, she's already getting a "Best. [Grandma name]. Ever." tee from E. So I'm going to give her this lovely goats milk lotion I found in a local boutique. Otherwise, I'd have to give her another scarf and that's the last thing she needs.
DH is in charge of his family's side of the gifts. I'm in charge of mine. That makes things so much easier. We've done it this way since we got married.
Being that I'm super Southern, I'd probably have gotten her a sweater and a candle (or insert something generic)...when I REALLY wanted to get her a copy of "Boundaries" and a stocking with coal in it.
When the hurricane went through, MIL and FIL were without power for a few days, so they asked for a small propane stove, a weather radio and a lantern, so we're getting that. Usually we are stuck. Their only hobby is golf. You can only buy so many balls or shirts. So we end up doing restaurant GCs and have the kids make them a picture or something.
Nothing!!! I don't talk to my MIL nor does my husband talk to her much either so the only in-law we are buying something small for is my FIL! I usually host him over for Christmas celebrations and we do a small gift exchange. We will probably get him a book he wants and maybe something else!
We got my MIL and step FIL a new computer as a joint gift. We wanted to do something more for them this year as a thank you for watching C and our dog so much while we were selling our house and moving.
As a joint gift for step MIL and FIL we got them a gift certificate for a stay in Amish County and some chocolate truffles.
No clue. This is DH's problem 😀 he did buy FIL coins, which he loves. DH usually buys his mom clothes but she always exchanges what we get so I think he is over making the effort.
