Decorating help- bedroom furniture

If we painted this set black, would a metal headboard/footboard look good with it?  If so, what kind?  I really, really want a metal bed.

What kind of metal bed? I don't know... These pieces seem very traditional and a metal bedframe is much more modern.

A metal bed could work with black but what about painting the set white?

Are you changing the dresser pulls or no? Does your style lean shabby chic, traditional, traditional, modern etc?

Shabby chic, I guess. Probably more like farmhouse.

Hey, I have that same dresser in our bedroom. I gave my sister the highboy. Mine is antiqued. I am going to paint mine too.

Shabby chic, I guess. Probably more like farmhouse.

Then I think white would be great. Do you want a bed with spindles? Check out llbean for some farmhouse like ideas.

I'd consider painting it gray or white and definitely change the pulls.

And it goes ncely with the antique dressers I inherited from my grandmother. I left the dressers their original stain (it was in good shape) and I choose a bronze bed.

I have always loved this bed. It is kind of plain but beautiful.

Oh, that is really pretty! And definitely goes with the antique feel.

They have a lot of styles and finishes, and since I chose a custom finish, it took about 6 weeks.  The one thing that I can vouch for is that this bed does not have a metal bed feel.  After it was put together, it was incredibly solid.
