We are going to Disneyland today!!! Only staying for a few hours since we will get passes and live so close but I am stoked! L woke up at 4:10 and I decided to get up after nursing him so I could get us all ready. My step mom will be here at 8 and we plan to leave shortly after!
Yesterday, DH text me that his work team needs him to pick up a gift card for their boss at a spa close to our house. I responded "no problem, I will go Sat and enjoy their quiet room" totally joking because we have no more money right now between our move, costs for L, C's bday, and Christmas. I will still pick it up and then take the boys to see Santa.
Another random...i guess when we moved and I went on a mission to get rid of clothes I don't wear I decided I only needed to keep my "normal weight" clothes. I had so many jeans and now only have one pair of maternity jeans (with holes in both knees) and two pairs of size 2 jeans that I am positive won't fit unless I lose another 10ish lbs (I am 5 lbs away from pre of weight). What was I thinking!?!?
So, while both boys will be bundled in fleece I will be wearing shorts, a long sleeve shirt, and a sweatshirt when I don't have L in the carrier. It will be 55 degrees when we get there and around 60 when we leave, which is laughingly cold in SoCal.
DS has surgery for tube placement and adenoidectomy tomorrow. It has been a really rough 6 weeks for us. May take him to see santa today to help keep my mind off tomorrow.
(( melsamoony)) he'll do fine! I think it's harder on the parents than on the kids (says the mom whose child hasn't been in surgery yet).
I have a plumber coming at 10. our toilet is leaking, and our usual handyman said he didn't feel comfortable trying to fix it. he's been really honest with us, so if he says he isn't comfortable, then he isn't comfortable. I don't mess with plumbing and electrical.
DH's company Christmas party is tonight! it's at our country club that we're already members of, so it's really close too. the babysitter said she doesn't mind staying late, so we'll likely stay out late ourselves. (late being like 10 pm, lol)

melsamoony - Good luck! My little man has tube placement, tongue and lip tie clips, and nasal endoscopy on Friday -- so I'm right there with ya! Hugs!!!
pooh8402 You're so lucky that you're allowed at his party. My husband's party is staff only. They do super awesome stuff year round and never have a single family day or spouses welcome event.

that's bullshit! and the first I've heard of that, ever. I go to my H's company's monthly happy hours if E and my work schedule allow. hell, this Christmas party is the only thing the KIDS aren't allowed to go to. and my hospital does family friendly stuff all the time.

Right!?!? I think so too. They rent out super awesome places like Navy Pier, and Cruise Ships, and historical banquet halls.....and I can't go to any of it.
I'm disappointed we are missing the fireworks company Christmas party but we leave for vacation the next day and H wants to leave at 3am.
Today's H's birthday and he is working today then going out of town for work. He won't be home until late tomorrow night. Well at least with him not home I can get the house cleaned and ready for Saturday.
So, I'm pretty sure a rat died under our house and it's stinking up our pantry. You guys, it's so bad. There aren't any vents in the pantry so I can't figure out why it's so strong in there, but I'm worried that it's somehow going to ruin all of our food. I'm trying to figure out how to convince H to crawl under the house to see if he can find and remove it, but he seems to think the smell is going to go away on its own.
I don't think I can handle waiting until it goes away on its own.
Update: H has decided that it's actually in the wall, which makes more sense than it being under the house. Unfortunately, he's also decided that this means there's nothing to be done and we just have to sit and wait for the smell to go away.
amaranthpooh8402 both our works do department or company only events but my work does more family events. It mostly depends on who is organizing it. H is doing a murder mystery dinner tomorrow and they've done tons of things that's only for employees. Sucks when he's off having fun and I'm home with a toddler!
katespade my parents had a squirrel get into the garage and somehow it got stuck in the wall. Omg, the smell was HORRIBLE. I feel for you. I think my uncle got in there somehow to get it out without destroying anything but I'm not sure how!

katespade We had a mouse die in a pipe under the house, the smell was horrible! And it definitely wasn't going to go away on its own, DH had to pull it out of there
