Annual Pass & Memory Maker Question

I just booked our trip for May (woop!) with memory maker.  We're also thinking of going in Jan '18 so I had the guy price out annual passes.  He said that we could upgrade our regular tickets to APs during the May trip, pay the difference and it includes memory maker.

Question--- if I get the annual passes before our May trip-- shouldn't it include the memory maker for both trips?  I didn't think about it until I hung up, but that would be a great savings!

ETA-- online it says Photo Pass downloads not "Memory Maker"-- isn't that the same thing?

Memory maker is only good for 30 days and you only have 45 days to download your photos.  The photo pass downloads that are attached to the APs have a year for you to download them.
