ESF and others that have done it, have you done the full custom or the ala cart. Looks like customs are $150 (2 lipsticks), while the established shade range (200 they say) start at $55.

That wasn't how it was when I went. You could do a custom for $50 or something. When I was there in February, they mixed up my colors for me and I got to sample and figure out if I wanted it more pink, more purple, etc and tried several attempts until I got it right.
I looked at their website, and it's not clear to me exactly what happens now with the a la carte, but they definitely did change it since then.

Boo. That's what google is suggesting to me too. I want a custom (otherwise, really, why spend $55 on a shade?...), but $150 is an investment.
They recently changed it....when I went to the one in NY, they told me about the new $150 vs $55 prices. Luckily there was a mix up and I was able to book online under the old rate (it was supposed to have been pulled down) so they honored it the old price.
Otherwise yeah, I'm not spending $150 on two shades of lipstick. Fuck that noise.
of course they changed it now. I'm not sure I follow the a la cart - $55 for a shade they already have you just pick the finish and scent?

Yeah, I'm confused by that. They say they have 200 shades, and I guess they don't actually sell all 200 shades in the stores. So there's probably some difference, but it's like they sapped all the fun out of it.
