Tuesday afternoon randoms

My bff got me a 9 foot inflatable minion and everyone is so upset I took it down. Oh and these are all adults lol. I've gotten so many text messages asking why I took him down. My landlord even offered to watch him while we are away if I put him back up.

My friend who cuts my hair wouldn't let me pay her for the hair cut and shaving H's head. I feel bad because I know it's because she knows we are tight on funds. So I'm going to pay her in cookies, she will probably like that more then money anyways. That girl can eat, she out eats my H lol but never gains an ounce. The first thing she looks for when she comes over is food. I should add she is 21 and still has energy lol. I love her though.

I finally put our Christmas tree up today. It's on the table this year so that a certain little monster doesn't get into it. He was pretty upset that I wouldn't let him chew on the ornaments as I was decorating it. lol.

Our 2016 ornament also arrived yesterday.

Is it just me, or is it SO hard not to spend extra money this time of year? I keep putting things in online carts or being tempted to go into stores just to see what I might find. We're on a tighter budget than ever and I have actually been doing great to resist and not purchase but it is HARD. bk1 you actually rewarded my efforts without knowing it. I was lusting after some purple nail polish at target yesterday and it was so hard to leave it on the shelf. I got home and was ecstatic to have it in my package!

I just love getting mail so much.

I had an X-ray this afternoon to see if I have pneumonia. Fingers crossed that it's just a bad case of bronchitis.

I am so hoping DH finds a great company in his job hunt. His absolute love is aviation and I keep hoping for a dream opportunity for him in that kind of company. If you have connections with any fabulous aviation companies that are hiring, let me know.

Also, how is it only 6:16 pm? I would happily go to bed right this second if I could.

His experience is project management, solutions engineering (process improvement and design), and contracts negotiation and review (he has a law license, but doesn't really want to be an attorney--would prefer project management). He would love to do something like be a PM for an aviation company.

Waiting for DH to get home. He texted an hour ago saying he was involved in a 5 car pile up on the freeway (about 15 min from home). I called, thankfully he is ok, but we are unsure how much damage to his car, which we only carry liability insurance. We are very likely going to have to replace and we are not really prepared to do so financially.

I am in sticker shock at how much the PO charged to mail my box. I tried to recycle/reuse an amazon box instead of buying a new padded envelope. And the box apparently was too big for the first class package rate. Next year I am cramming everything in an envelope LOL

I also can't believe Alan Thicke died. I was just explaining who he was to H the other day when I watched Fuller House. H didn't know who he was and has never watched Growing Pains.

Thanks ladies! He's home...car definitely needs to be fixed but they might not depending on cost. It's a 2004 with 250k miles on it. I am just so thankful he is okay. I can't imagine life without him, even more so now that we have our two precious sons.

Thanks ladies! We are pretty confident the car will be totalled. We have $10k but that's not enough to get DH a car he will be happy with long term. Another factor is his job/commute. He was hoping this car would last until he switched to a job closer to home. Now we will be buying a "new to us" car and putting 100+ miles on it daily. Oh well...not what we want but things could be so much worse.
