I'm sitting here waiting for my car to be done. I brought it in for an oil change and inspection. It didn't pass inspection for the rear tires. H wants to take it to our neighborhood shop and see what he says before we drop $318 on tires. We don't really trust dealerships. I only bring it here since I get free oil changes as part of my purchase agreement.
We are going to my bff's house tonight to see her Christmas lights. She has that system that she can coordinate the lights to music.
I slept a little more last night, trying to get over this cold. DH had baby monitor duty. I still feel like I could crash. Hoping things are on the up and up.
I'm still getting over my sinus infection. Clear snot this morning, woohoo! Still have congestion and severe hearing loss though, and 5 days of antibiotics left. E is coughing again, and not sleeping well, poor thing. I need a healthy house too!
I'm waiting at home for someone to come by and pick up our old mattress. A coworker told me about a family that is struggling and they're sleeping on the floor! So we're giving them our old mattress. Plus, dh's company (the little one he owns, not the big one he works for) is going to provide them with some needs, and clothes and toys for the kids, so help give them a better Christmas. As soon as the mattress is picked up, I'm going shopping for them.
L was up 5 times last night so add me to the tired club. BUT, we are leaving for Disneyland in a bit so today will be a good day! We are going with my dad- super Excited! Only staying for 3 hours and coming home for naps.
We're supposed to get hit with a storm today, and they're expecting that it might last through the weekend. The forecast is saying 4-6" of snowfall today, which is a big deal around here and would shut the town down for days. My house is stocked up on groceries, I have books to read, my DVD is full of shows to watch, and I have no plans to go anywhere until the storm is over.

@emtmissy I generally feel the same way about dealerships too, and places I'm not familiar with in general. On several occasions I have called my mechanic back home in NJ to ask about parts, prices, etc. I wish I could take my car to him all the time.

I did a bunch of errands this morning, I had 2 basic areas I was going to in opposite directions of my house. I was going to do one today and one either tomorrow or Fri but it's supposed to be super cold the next 2 days and it didn't seem smart to drag DS out in it if I could help it. So we did it all this morning.
I'm pretty sure I'm done with my Christmas shopping now unless I've missed something (we do need to do groceries for Christmas Eve/Christmas) And thank goodness because I think I've lost my patience. Today was the first day when I really just wanted to get in and get out as quickly as possible....and I had a couple of incredibly slow cashiers who were not helping that.
I took my car for the oil change at one of the generic places. They told me I had to replace BOTH my front and back brakes/rotors right away. Um, I just had my front brakes done at a garage in September....and I have ZERO squealing/grinding coming from my car.
So, USPS delivered my package to the neighbors house. I knocked on their door but no one answered, so I just took it off their porch. I don't know these neighbors, so I didn't want to wait and see if they would bring it over.
...I'm going to get arrested because USPS can't read house numbers, aren't I?
katespade- I love hearing stories on the boards about how much snow it takes to shut down towns. (2 years ago our school district closed the schools for 3 days, that was the first snow days in ~35 years, and only because 2ft fell between midnight and 7am.)
We got a foot last week in 24 hrs and schools stayed open.
MrsMB- when I go to places like that I NEVER take them up on their offer to fix anything. (Because it would be $$ and they don't know what they are doing, except oil changes.)
katespade- how did you know it was delivered to their house?
awick14 - There is no snow yet but they still decided to shut down the schools and colleges early, and a bunch of businesses have closed for the day. It's madness.
I checked the tracking number, which said it had been delivered to the mailbox. When I went to the mailbox it wasn't there. I saw an Amazon package sitting on the neighbors doorstep so I walked up to check, and it had my name and address on it.
awick14 - I'm always nervous about that happening, because FedEx has done it before. That time, though, it ended up across the street at an address that wasn't even close to ours. At least this time it was only one house over.
I just feel bad that I didn't get to let someone know that I wasn't stealing a package from their doorstep. Like, if someone saw me that was probably exactly what it looked like. But it was mine! lol.

awick14katespade I like hearing how much it takes to shut other places down because.. yeah lol. Almost 5 years at my job and we closed early once, and not for weather!
