What's up with everyone? Are you ready for the holidays?
We're meant to get our electricity turned back on today, which is very, very exciting. We also went to look at the flooring and it's so much better (wax/stain). There's only one or two bits that aren't great but I can live with them at this point.

We finally got around to putting ornaments on the tree yesterday. I am still not feeling Christmassy, but it's an improvement.
I am completely overwhelmed by everything I have to do lately, and to top it all off, I have to give two weeks' notice today (my REA license finally was approved). I'm totally an anxious mess over it.

Two of my coworkers have handed out office-wide gifts. One was a whisk (which I think was cheap since DS2 tore it up in about .5 seconds) with some kisses and another came around this morning with a bunch of B&BW lotions. Do I need to buy something for everyone? There's only 7 of us in my level in the building anymore and I have a gift that I picked out specially for 2 of them (because they're extremely helpful when I need something to do my job). I'm so over Christmas already and I haven't wrapped any of my own gifts or even made it TO Christmas.

emoflamingo, nope, that's their decision to buy for everyone. I would be horrified if someone thought they needed to buy me a gift at any of the places I worked.
My father's condo is finally listed... except I noticed that he priced it at 259k instead of 159k... Big whoops there. The listing is otherwise well-written and accurate and he corrected the mistake as soon as I called him. If I had any fucks left to give I'd be pissed, but I just don't anymore.

The first wave of family has descended and despite having to entertain DH's family by myself today while he works, it's going well. They leave tomorrow and the next wave comes Friday. I have a whole lot of wrapping to do between now and then and cleaning and grocery shopping but that's it.

DARN IT! The electricity guys didn't show by 5pm so my H called and said that we could make it to the house up to 10pm, but they would need to call us first (since all the workmen are off site by then). And supposedly the guy showed up and said we weren't there...BUT THEY NEVER CALLED EVEB THOUGH IT'S ON THE NOTES!!! So now we're trying to get them in before the alarm people meant show tomorrow (at 4pm). If we can't get the alarm in then that company can't come until after the new year and that makes our house very, very vulnerable (as it was broken into already a few weeks prior). I will be rip roaring if this doesn't happen. Bah! Day two of sitting around waiting for idiots.
I'm growing older but not up. My metabolic rate is pleasantly stuck, let the winds of time blow over my head. I'd rather die while I'm living than live while I'm dead.
mrsukyankee, we've not had good luck with installers/estimate people lately either. It sucks. Bleh. I still have no idea when the hell my new bathroom floor is going to be installed b/c it's phone tag between the store and the installers. I'm over this already.
