Has anyone seen them? They are oddly amusing to watch - maybe like disney collector for adults?
I've caught a couple and I *think* the premise is you order the setting and then you get to have the person open a shell for you.
It's interesting to see the colors and sizes of pearls.
I see it pop up under a live feed every so often, but it's just weird to me. Is it the same thing as the pearl opening or the diamond candles? It screams huge scam to me.

I have no idea what those are. It is really weird but it's amusing and a little captivating.

A girl from my hometown does it (?) although she posts videos of other people doing it. My opinion of her clouds things but it looks like a B grade MLM situation.

I had no idea what these were. I have a friend who posts another person opening them, and I just thought she liked watching someone open oysters. Don't get it.
I looked it up once trying to figure out how the whole thing works on the consultant side even though in no way to do I want to do it. Does the consultant buy the giant tub of oysters and whatever is in it effects what she makes? How much does it cost to sell this thing? Anyhow, it looks like these are the starter consultants and they're working on expanding and lettings others sign up.
Also I thought this was some like.. fake oyster? Are you telling me these are legit oysters? I want to barf. Also I've watched Top Chef. Oysters aren't that easy to open. I call shenanigans.

If the consultant buys the oysters and then doesn't sell them quick enough do they rot? Are we talking about real oysters here? I've never heard of this.
What if the oyster you pick hasn't made a pearl? Do you just keep your empty setting?
Pretty sure they can check via x-ray or something to make sure there is one. I also think they implant the sand or whatever in the oyster so it begins making a pearl.
My sil did this at a beach kiosk as a side job. It wasn't mlm at the time it was just a job. She said it was fun to see what people got and the oysters are real but they are cultivated in a way that they are almost guaranteed a pearl. I think she said it was some sort of irritation (like sand) in the oyster and it would produce a pearl around it or something like that.
From what I gather, the oysters are harvested, cleaned and put in alcohol or something? I don't know. I keep thinking of how much their house stinks from opening them up.
I don't know if it's a MLM or not. I haven't looked that much into it.
On FB, if you type in Oyster Opening Party, you can see some that were previously live. It is crazy though. one lady had almost 2k viewers and the people ont here that get to pick theirs to open are soooooo excited.
I'm going to start an MLM where you have parties where everyone gets a wrapped box and there are different lame prizes in them like candles and bath stuff but also I took a shit in one of the boxes.
Which is more disturbing, my idea or the fact that I could get idiots to buy it?

The one I saw the other night, people were asking questions and they were answering and one of the ladies said she has made enough that her husband stays home now.
The whole thing is so weird and random but somewhat fascinating.

BILs girlfriend invited me to like 5 of these. No thanks. I don't understand the appeal at all. But she likes that spider mascara and has never taken a picture that doesn't involve duck face, so I'm not all that surprised our interests don't exactly align.
