What are you up to today? I have to work and I swear, it feels like I'm the only non-essential employee in the country without the day off.
My vent is that I am totally and completely grinching out this Christmas, and if one more person tells me to cheer up about it/get in the holiday spirit, I'm going to run them over with my car. It's the holiday equivalent of freaking "Smile!" Ugh.
I have gotten something like 3 hours of sleep per night this week, too, so that's really not helping the hair trigger I'm sitting on at the moment.
ALSO, I might have to work today, but there are literally only four things on my to-do list and they are short ones. I'm going to be done by noon, for sure, and so I'm taking a knitting project so I have something to do. Sigh.
We finally have an install date for the master bath flooring. I can't wait to walk in there and it not look like we are living in sub-standard conditions. Right after the new year, the horrible homemade wooden shelves from the former owner in the laundry closet are coming down and the drywall will be repaired. I need to get on the ball with figuring out what color I want to paint it/if I want to do stenciling on the wall. DH is placing the Elfa order and scheduling the install when he goes over today.

Hi everyone and happy holidays.
I'm working right now too. My father-in-law passed away last week and things have been hectic. We are all still processing it all and trying to catch up on work and holiday stuff.
Things are absolutely crazy today. I might make another post asking for some color scheme help.
I'm over this move. We discovered that UK Power Networks blew our appliances. Our fridge freezer and dishwasher are not working. The dryer and washing machine weren't plugged in luckily so they are fine. We now have to work with their adjusters to get money from them. Which probably won't happen at this time of the year for ages. Luckily we have a small fridge in the garage and we can use paper plates until they hook up our sinks. We'll have beds and that's what we need.
mrs.jacinthe, you'll be escaping soon! Have you given notice yet?
I'm being lazy, and I think it's pissing off MH. I can't care, though. I'm still exhausted. School just ended last week! In other news, I applied for a job in PA yesterday. That means I'd be living apart from H, but people do it all the time, right?
I'm so sorry for your loss, bunnymendelbaum . That's so hard, especially this time of year. ((hugs)) How is M doing?
He's ok. His dad was really suffering at the end, so when he finally passed we were all so relieved. I don't think it has fully set in yet. We are trying to be there for his mom as much as we can and I think that coupled with our normal hectic life isn't giving him the time to process. His brother's death 3 years ago was so sudden and really messed him up, so I'm on high alert watching for any warning signs to get him counseling help if he needs it.
Our LR closet was finished Monday. I have to figure out boxes and bins still and sort out the charging station setup but I love it. My next door neighbor stopped by to see it and was awed. She hugged me and just kept saying how life changing it is and that she was going home to determine where she's having hers built. I have to laugh that she's copied so much of what we've done in our house in the six years we've lived next door.
Sewer pipe is being fixed Tuesday and LR ceiling and walls will be repaired in January and (FINGERS CROSSED UNIVERSE) we should be all set for awhile and can concentrate on fun projects, not repair projects.
On the fun side, I caught the Christmas spirit last night and stayed up until nearly 3 puking Christmas. It looks awesome and I hope the kids are impressed (they were with MIL last night).
