I have pretty much had the same makeup routine since I started wearing makeup in junior high! My products have changed, but not much else.
I do have sensitive skin and have used Bare Minerals powder foundation for years and it works well with my skin/doesn't break it out. But I also feel like it may not give me the best coverage and I feel like it is gone by the end of the work day. I am hesitant to try something else since that has worked well for my skin (and I really hate the way liquid foundation feels on me).
Is there something I could put on under my foundation, like a primer, to help? Any recommendations for that?
I also will put concealer on my eyelids to try and keep my eye shadow on (I use just cheapie Cover Girl concealer and for eyeshadow pretty much exclusively use the different Naked palettes), but I still feel like my eyeshadow creases and disappears by day's end.
In a nutshell, my makeup routine consists of:
-Foundation (bare minerals) -Apply concealer (CG) -Apply eye shadow and eye liner (naked and Clinique, respectively) -Mascara (L'Oreal) -Blush (Clinique)
I guess I'm just wondering if there are any steps or products I should be using to get good coverage that lasts all day. I end up looking so tired and worn by the end of the day because I feel like my makeup just sort of....disappears? I don't touch my face a lot or anything.

Makeup disappearing as the day goes on is pretty common -- and annoying!
There are a few different ways to get your foundation to stay put longer. A primer might help, although I've never had good luck with them. Reapplying mid-day can be a good solution too, especially since you're using a powder foundation. It's pretty easy to reapply around lunch time, then just put some blush back on afterwards. You can also play around with different powder foundations. I used MAC Studio Fix for years -- it has buildable coverage, so if I applied more in the morning, then it would last longer.
Unfortunately, I find liquid foundations to be much longer lasting than any powder foundation I've ever tried. If you don't like the way liquid foundation feels on your face, you could try a few different formulas. A BB cream/tinted moisturizer would be lighter and not feel as heavy. A gel foundation could also be a good solution (I've been wanting to try this Tarte one). Also, I avoided liquid foundation for around a decade because I hated it as a teenager. Either my skin changed or foundation formulas changed, but it doesn't bother me at all now. So if it's been a while, it might be worth trying again. Sephora is great for that -- they will give you up to 3 samples. So if you walked in and explained that you wanted to try some light liquid foundations, they could try one on you, then give you samples of 3 of them. The sample size is plenty to try the product out for a couple days.
A setting spray can also help. Urban Decay All Nighter is a popular one. I use it occasionally, but I'm not really convinced it helps. ELF sells one too, and it's super cheap (like, $1 or $3), so you could try that first and see if it helps.
Also, I'd stop using concealer under your eyeshadow and start using a real eye shadow primer. The Urban Decay Primer Potion or Too Faced Shadow Insurance are both great options.

Urban Decay All Nighter to set your makeup. Urban Decay also makes an eyeshadow primer that will keep your shadow on and from creasing. How much coverage are you wanting? I use a tinted moisturizer and a powder( I use NARS). UD also make a great eyeliner that stays put all day. Also, how are your skin care products? Have you tried an eye cream to help you not look so tired?

Definitely start with an eyeshadow primer. Right now I'm using the Urban Decay one others have mentioned because I got a great deal on Black Friday.
But I've also used cheaper ones with the same results. ELF and Milani both have good formulas with drugstore prices.
I have also used Bare Minerals for years and every once in a while I decide I want something new and start trying liquid foundations. I usually end up going back to Bare Minerals, lol. But I get the need to experiment.
Right now I'm using, and enjoying, Fiona Stiles luminous foundation. Has a good feel and I feel like it gives my skin a soft finish.
Tarte tinted bb primer gives less coverage than UD naked skin (needs a brush to apply IMO) but both have been fine with my sensitive skin. My SIL likes to use the Tarte primer with a powder foundation on top and Tarte powder blush because it lasts all day
UD primer is great. Right now my fave eye primer is the maybelline color tattoo in barely beige (a show for MAC paint lots) since it gives a smidge of color and helps shadow stay.
You might like the Cover FX foundation drops. It's pigment drops that you mix into like moisturizer that add coverage but don't feel heavy. I also highly suggest going into Sephora and getting foundation samples to try. There are some great lighter formulas out there. Also get some eye primer samples. My go to is the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. The Urban Decay eye primer was too drying on my lids. I've also heard great things about the Milani eye primer.

I am a die hard powder foundation person and love primer. Give it a go! Also make sure you are moisturizing too first.
I do reapply mid day, usually in my t zone area.
I love cover fx primers and the foundation drops. You may like that, and then when I really want everything to stay I set with my powder foundation too. You only need one or two of the drops. A very tiny bit goes a long way
Thank you everyone! With the holiday activities, I forgot to check back here over the weekend.
I did not even know eye shadow primer existed lol. So I will pick some up this week. May also try a primer under my foundation.
I don't really have a skin care routine. I was my face in the morning with water only and use Cetaphil moisturizer. At night, I remove my makeup with makeup remover, wash with water and Cetaphil cleanser, then moisturize. So I guess I have a routine but I really just use moisturizer and a cleanser once at night. Should I be doing more? I do have some issues with breakouts, esp. around my period.

Depends on your skin. I'm doing the bare minimum because my skin is a mess right now. Less is more sometimes. If you were to add anything I'd go with a BHA or AHA product from Paulas choice. You can order samples and see what your skin likes. And it's easy to google the differences between both and decide what you'd like. BHA to clean out pores, AHA equally good but better for anti aging and taking away dead skin cells on your skin. Can't go wrong. If you want to try full sized products at some point I have a link where you can get $10 off (and I also get $10 off, ful, disclosure)

Just wanted to say thanks for the eye shadow primer rec. I picked up the UD one yesterday and used it for the first time today. I love it! My eye shadow has stayed put since 7 AM with no creases. Looks the same as when I applied it for the first time ever! So excited to find this product.
