I'm excited because my mom is hosting Christmas Eve dinner this year, it is usually at my house because I have more room but she wanted to do it at hers this year. Not sure why, but super excited I don't have to deal with it.
I'm also really looking forward to tomorrow. H and I spend the day alone in pjs. We watch Christmas movies, open presents, drink a lot, and cuddle. We don't go anywhere or see anyone. It is the only day of the year his work is closed and we and can just be together without him getting calls/texts from work. I love it.
He is working tomorrow but only a half day. They are open everyday except Christmas (close at 5pm on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve). I have the whole week off, so we will have a couple days together. I am looking forward to it. I hope you had a wonderful first Christmas with the little one!

Hello! I'm late, but our Christmas was pretty good.
We drove to the hill country to see my BFF and her family on the 23rd - she's the one who lost her brother a couple of months ago to suicide, so it was really important to me to spend time with her & her mom this year (they were almost like my 2nd family as a teenager). We just relaxed, played some Scrabble, ate some tamales & queso, and gave long hugs.
On the 24th we drove up from there to the in-laws house to spend Xmas Eve with them, which is always entertaining. Luckily no kids are allowed anymore per MIL's rules (which is absolutely fine by us - less gifts to buy and MUCH quieter than when those kids are around, LOL!). One of the SIL's has a son that will be in jail for a pretty long time, so that was the interesting story this year. I think it's a GOOD thing - this is the same one that has 7 babies with 5 different women, including one mentally-challenged 16 yr old girl he knocked up. It's kind of good to think he won't be spreading his awfulness for at least 7-15 years, depending on the sentence.
Just like every year, we spend 3.5 hours driving Christmas morning from the hill country back home to do Christmas day with my family. It was a smaller group this year than usual, and my mom set up the gift game where stuff is wrapped up in a huge plastic-wrapped ball and you have to unwrap in your given time limit to get the stuff while the person next to you rolls the dice. It was our first time playing that and it was a lot of fun. We may do it again next year and have everyone who wants to play throw in some $$ at Thanksgiving so we can get bigger gift cards and such.
I did have Monday off, which was mostly just doing chores, watching sports, and relaxing, and then I am back to work this week. Being an accountant, we don't get this week off due to month-end and year-end financial duties, but it's super nice & quiet and I'm able to get a lot done this week!
