Today is all about cleaning and laundry in our house, plus make pie for tomorrow, but otherwise most stuff is done. I'm looking forward to relaxing tonight and watching Christmas Vacation! I have a few gifts to wrap but they are for my nieces/nephew who we are not seeing yet but I figure I might as well crank it out now.
I was up super early (and not because of DS) and i'm worried I'm going to crash early.
I have 10 more presents to wrap, cookies to bake, laundry to do, and then we are bringing cookies to a nursing home, going to my family's and then late church at 9 pm. I am guessing I will be going by myself since it's so late, but there aren't any other times we can go.
I have three more desserts to make krystee, and all my ingredients are three hours away! Luckily we aren't doing our regular Christmas eve tradition of going to my Busha's house (she's 98 and it does feel weird since this is only the second time not there in 30 years- first time was year my great grandfather died when I was in fifth grade so my parents hosted, and this year bc she's in the rehabilitation center and we had to visit in laws three hours away.)
But we don't plan on leaving here til after lunch, and takes 3+ hours depending on how much I have to pee. So I'll probably be up late tonight.

H got home from work a bit ago so he's napping while E and I hang out for a bit. I'm hoping he will take an early nap so he's not cranky at ILs! We're going there around 12:30, then heading down to my parents for the night.
I had a great time at my Grandma's house with my extended family last night. I ended up staying until 11pm while we all sat around and chatted.
Also, my Grandpa collected the Budweiser Clydesdale beer steins for years and years, and I got to pick one out of his collection to keep. I took the one from the year I was born, and I'm feeling more emotional about having it than I expected to.
I'm on call for work. I was supposed to be using this time to finish wrapping presents and doing laundry. But DH is sick as a dog, and E is super clingy, so I've gotten nothing done. At this moment, E is sleeping on top of me. On the one hand, I miss this so much. On the other hand, I have stuff to do!
DH and I are roasting a duck, potatoes, and asaparagus for. Christmas Eve lunch. We've just cooked then played with Lila all day. We hope to go caroling in the town square tonight.

My parents are on the way over. My mom doesn't realize it but my brother who lives out west is ALSO on his way. He flew in today and only my dad and I know.
It isn't much of a holiday so far, but what a lovely Saturday. Lazing around, sleeping and watching TV. The shower and bathroom floor are done so that stress isn't hanging over us.
Eventually I'll get up and finish wrapping gifts and bake. But not now.
Oh my gosh, wanderingenough, what an exciting surprise for your mom!!!
It was awesome! He knocked on the door, I went to answer and told him to be quiet. He walked up behind her on the couch and tapped her on the shoulder. She was so shocked!!
DH and I have been cleaning on and off all day. I decided I wanted to make sugar cookies so G helped me cut them out. Fun to start our own special traditions.
We had a pretty good day today. I made lasagna and DH's family came over. Some of them are still here. I kinda wish they would leave so I could go to bed lol.

Our day started off really bad but ended great. The bad is we have water coming in our house when it rains (not sure how since its not an obvious leak). It soaked through our fireplace and 1.5 ft of carpet. An insurance adjuster is coming out tueaday although it likely won't be covered (also not covered by our home warranty). DH tore out the pad and has had a fan on it all day. Oh, and C woke up with a cold and just wasn't himself today.
The good...we had a lovely Christmas Eve at my parents house! Great company, great food and dessert, and spiked Apple cider!
