Any personal highs or best things about 2016?


- Went to Europe for my third time, and attended my first Euro-Cup game. 
- Saw so many awesome artists & bands, at least one per month!  I'm still in awe that I saw Adele in person, and got to record some videos to look back on from her amazing show (probably the best concert I will ever go to in my life!). 
- Made it over a year at my job and got a pay raise!    (high5)
- DIDN'T GET PREGNANT!!    <) :Y:



Any personal lows or worst things about 2016?

-  lost two friends to suicide, and one from heart failure.   
- stupidly got into a couple of FB arguments over politics and got "unfriended" by a few folks, though I guess it's not THAT bad to rid yourself from combative & argumentative people.  I think I'm going to try giving up talking about politics, though.  


Did you make any resolutions that you completed/accomplished this year?

- I didn't have any "set" fitness goals, but I did want to try new routines and stay focused.  I consider this accomplished since I successfully completed the 60 day PiYo challenge earlier this year and have managed to stay within the same 5 pounds I was at last year at this time. 
- I definitely gave more to charities than last year, which was another goal, but I will have to wait until tax time to gather everything and see how much more I did. 



Any plans for New Years Eve this weekend?


- not yet, because my bestie is still out of town, but she wanted to do something. I have the feeling she won't be getting a sitter and wants us to go over to her house to ring in the new year, with her kids in bed and all, but IDK if I'm down for that this time (we've pretty much done that the past several years and I don't really want to see her crappy neighbor's fireworks this time, lol).  Saliva is playing at a venue very close to us, so we may end up going out there to hear music, but it's still up in the air. 


What plans do you already have in store for 2017?


- going to NOLA in March, and going to California in September (only travel plans in the works for right now)
- I have the green light to schedule the H for a vasectomy, so you can bet your ass I'm doing that in the next couple of weeks.   (high5)


What would you LIKE to do in 2017 that may not already be planned or arranged?


- I'm not sure if I will actually do it, but we're discussing getting a new car for me.  Mine is now over 10 years old and starting to need extra TLC and I'm finally coming around to the idea of getting a new one.   I need to do some test drives to see what the hell I want, though, and we need to sell one of the cars we already have first (already have 4 cars at our house, there's absolutely no reason 2 people need to have 5 cars!!)

Any personal highs or best things about 2016? I turned 30, we celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary, and we had a few wonderful trips to Las Vegas, Utah, and Door County


Any personal lows or worst things about 2016? Worst thing: DT getting elected. I got involved and very passionate during this election year and took it very hard when he won.


Did you make any resolutions that you completed/accomplished this year?  To hike 100 miles over my summer vacation and I accomplished it.


Any plans for New Years Eve this weekend? Not sure what we want to do--it's just DH and me. Several bars here have bands and stuff, so we will probably just head to one of those.


What plans do you already have in store for 2017? Seeing Hamilton in Chicago in two weeks! Nothing is officially booked, but we are planning on a Colorado trip for July over our anniversary. Also hoping to take a few days over my Spring Break to stay in a cabin in Shawnee National Forest.


What would you LIKE to do in 2017 that may not already be planned or arranged? See above. I really hope both our trips pan out, and I would also like for DH and I to be able to find new jobs. He finishes up school in May and once he gets a better-paying job, I can hopefully look for work elsewhere, even if it's a pay cut.

The hurricane caused a lot of issues.

No real resolutions, but I did make some peace with some things.

Any plans for New Years Eve this weekend? 
Hanging out with my parents NYD. Not sure about NYE yet.

Settling on the house.

Get healthier. Increase my 401k contributions.

My car is paid off, so as of now, we have no car payments.
We refinanced our house, and lowered our monthly payment. 
The H and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary.

Any personal lows or worst things about 2016?


My dad had a heart attack. (He's okay now, and it has been a great wake up call for both my parents.) 
My sister has been a huge stressor in my life and I am trying to figure out how to come to terms with dealing with it.
Getting laid off at the beginning of the year, and not really having any success in getting a new job

We had a pretty chill evening in, it was awesome. I have been baking cookies/treats for the neighbors all day.

Actively looking for a new job.

We are pretty close to pulling the trigger on a vacation at OBX, and I am pretty excited about it. Beyond that, I can't really think of anything.

We went the current house, but the lease isn't up until April. I'm not looking forward to paying rent for a house we don't live in, but oh well.

I went to New Orleans, adult summer camp, Paris, WWHP at Universal FL, and I spent a lot of time with people I love.  
Any personal lows or worst things about 2016?
Trump.  We are living dystopian "fiction" - but that shit was based on what could've happened had history unfolded differently - this is the transition to those scenarios.

What plans do you already have in store for 2017?
I'm "all political now" as my friends have observed.  I've gotten involved in local Dem organizations, PP, NYCLU, Citizens' Climate Lobby - and I've never been involved in anything in my life.  lol  Fuck these anti-intellectual, fundamentalist Christian motherfuckers.  Abortion access was always my #1 voting issue, and now I will fight to protect it.

Also I rented a huge house on this lake where my grandparents rented a cottage for a month every year growing up, and all my siblings, their SO's and my parents will be there. So excited, but it's not til Sept.

What would you LIKE to do in 2017 that may not already be planned or arranged?
I'd like to be following the impeachment and real investigation into Russia ties, but also I need a big trip - was thinking Italy but now I may do a road trip of western US National Parks (which I've always wanted to do, and now it feels urgent).
