Also not an expert, but it's definitely safe to drink. The only concern would be change in the taste, but since it's been kept cold, I think that will even be minimal. Enjoy! (And I'll stop being proud of myself for a bottle surviving in my fridge for a WEEK- ha!)

Wine goes through periods of time. It'd it's an inexpensive wine it's fine. Some wine goes dorment and you should continue to cellar it and wait until a set range of years to open it.
But if it's just a regular bottle you got at the packie drink away. It won't go bad - as wine ages the flavor profile can change. So if you had a certain vintage and drank a bottle fresh, then another bottle after five years and another bottle after ten years they all might have variations due to the aging process.
