This year is going to be for re-writes and edits of the novel I wrote for NaNo. I want to publish eventually, so it still needs a lot of work even after a lot of planning and pre-writing.
Publish my first novel. I've only been putting it off for two years, so it's time, even if I self-pub. It's just a matter of figuring out the legalities, because I know DH would want me to incorporate myself for extra protection.
Other than that...get a better writing schedule. The last about year and a half has been a whirlwind, between quitting my old job in August 2015, getting a new job where I work from home in September 2015, and then moving in May 2016...I've had a hard time keeping to a schedule.
I'm about two months too late for this post but hi anyway! My 2016 Camp Nano is currently in the hands of two generous readers who are editing and critiquing it. Depending on their feedback and my revisions I'm hoping to start sending it out to agents this summer, while working on the sequel(s). I'm also about 10k words into a YA fantasy that I'm really excited about so hopefully I can get that done and polished by the end of the year.
Other goals- work on pitching and writing synopses.Yo
You are so productive! Are you planning on doing Camp this spring?

I signed up for my first ever Camp. I had two people read my 2014 novel and they seemed to like the concept, so I'm gonna attempt to revise it in April.

I need to redo one of my stories, so I'll probably do that for camp to.
Hi all! I crashed and burned during NaNo due to being super sick in my first tri. I've decided to go for Camp Nano because April should be a little slow for me (due mid-May and need a distraction!) I'm brainstorming now...
Fun! Let me know if you ever want to chat/brainstorm/vent together. I'm reaaaaally enjoying what I've written so far. I also tend to create best when I get to "talk" about my story so I'm always looking for writing buddies!
I love that there's a few other fantasy projects in here. Mine probably fits best under "new adult" and is an urban fantasy.
incogneato & c7 are you doing single books or trilogies/series?
At the moment it's a standalone, but I already adore the male main character (after writing one page of his POV, lol) and I may end up giving him a sequel since he is going to be left in the dirt romantically at the end of the first book and I want him to have a happy ending.
I'm usually a total pantser and have no idea where stories are going when I start, but this one seems to be mapping it out in my head ahead of time, which is really fun. Like, I sit down at my computer every time and think, "Oh right. I haven't written any of that yet." Ha! I'm hoping it will make it easier than my first two books, but this one requires flashbacks and I'm struggling with how to fit them in best.
Mine is a trilogy. I'm a(n) (over)plotter to the point where it's kind of interfering with my writing right now. I write something then cut it and stick it in another document because "that fits better over in Book 2 or 3." Meanwhile the first draft is a choppy mess. Heh.
Overplotters unite! I have so much backstory that will never appear in the actual series but I've had so much fun exploring history, the antagonist's goals, and what my MCs were doing before the story starts.
As for Camp: my goal is to get a good chunk of draft 2 done. I need to tighten things up a bit, mainly making sure one subplot it better developed and cutting some of the aforementioned over-plotting exposition. It is making this both easier, since I know where I have to go and have something to start from, and harder, because there's more pressure.
I now remember how much I hate doing revisions. LOL! I just started revising the third book in the dystopian trilogy I've been working on for a shamefully long time (I did the first draft of the third book for NaNo 2015, I think) and...ugh. This is going to be painful.
