Hi, I'm in need of a new moisturizer. I'm early 30s, so wrinkles are beginning to show. I have combination skin, more oily in the summer and more dry in the winter. I like moisture, but I hate feeling like I have something heavy on my face. Still some acne but very occasional.
Night cream is the same line, the gel-cream. I love the lightweight feel and it sinks right in, but it doesn't seem moisturizing enough for me. I'm still seeing some flakes. This is perfect in the summer, but not enough in winter. www.neutrogena.com/product/hydro+boost+gel-cream+extra-dry+skin.do
I do use Neutrogena's Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum at night, prior to my moisturizer. every day or every other day. let's say 5 days a week.
The reason I'm posting and looking for something else, is that DH and I are moving from SE Texas (very humid) to west Texas (very dry and windy) in the next 2-3 months. We were there over the weekend and I could feel a difference in my face and how dry it was. So I know my current stuff will not cut it.
So I would like a lightweight but good moisturizer, something that won't feel heavy on my face, just soft and smooth. Day and night formulas. Budget: ideally less than $25, willing to go up to $40? I can get to Ulta easily now, and will have an Ulta, Sephora, and Dillards in my new location.
I don't really have a daytime recommendation, but I used this night cream when we lived in San Diego (crazy dry weather, but not the wind you'll have).
It's the green Caudalie moisturizer. I found it lasted a long time for the amount you get. I wanted to try other things (Asian beauty) but I just recently bought it again and I'm moving to the northeast -ish and I think I'll need more than I need here. m.sephora.com/product/P6022?skuId=241539
For day I love the Origins GinZing Energy boosting moisturizer, it comes in an orange tub. It's a gel like moisturizer and it sinks in but still feels moisturizing. I have similar skin concerns oily in the summer/dry in the winter and I use this stuff year round and it's great. You should be able to get a sample from Sephora to try out.
For night I love the Cerave PM moisturizer. I mix a few drops of face oil in the winter to really boost it up but this is another gel like moisturizer that's really great and it's a bit cheaper.
Yes I use the Biore Water Essance sunscreen after the Origins.
is that heavy? I don't like the way most sunscreens feel, too heavy.
Not at all. Its very light and absorbs quickly into the skin and lasts all day for me. Amazon is the best place to get it I think. I usually wait until it's available for prime or try a different seller. This is just one link though, hopefully it works. I also use the Cerave PM, day and night. And the same Biore sunscreen as @pippin. I also add a couple drops of oil at night during the winter and it is amazingly moisturizing. I use the Tarte maracuja oil.
I love that moisturizer. During the summer I use a different one during the day but it's perfect for day time in the winter.
