MrsMBpooh8402MrsAggie and others who know the name of the game-- I've got a predicament. We are going to the National Championship on Monday night in Tampa. I had an outfit all planned in my head. Crimson skinny jeans, light black tee, and houndstooth scarf for fashion - not function. It's looking like highs in the mid 60s during the day and lows in the mid 40s at night. I was just going to carry a bigger purse and put a sweatshirt in there to whip out in the stadium when the temps dropped after dark. That plan went to hell when the tickets arrived today and H showed me the game day guide with basically every type of bag excluded.
So now I need to figure out a top that will be warm enough to work for the cooler evening (remember, I'm a wimp from FL) but also won't make me sweat to death as we walk around and tailgate ALL DAY. The other option is to keep the outfit as is and carry the sweater all day in a super fashionable clear plastic bag. Ha!
ETA: We won't have a car to store it in because we are Ubering.
Can you wrap the sweater around your waist while it's too warm to wear it? I live in the land of layering, so that's what I usually do when I go to an all day event like tailgating.
What about an open front cardigan? (I also call these ballet cardigans) You could do black since the shirt is black. They are lightweight and would provide some coverage.
ETA: You could also tie it around your waist like the others are describing for a sweater.

This is what I would do. Or make my H carry it over his shoulder if we were walking around. But I'm known to freeze and must have a thicker sweatshirt at all times just in case.
Keep the outfit as is and carry the super fashionable clear plastic bag. Every other woman will be carrying one. I have one. I haaaatttte the look of tying a sweater/ sweatshirt around your waist. I avoid it at all costs. Imo, if I'm tying a sweater around my waist, what's the point of even trying to be fashionable?
Wear warm socks. Don't neglect your feet. When my feet are cold, the rest of me is cold. Even in the 40s. I have learned to expect it to be colder than the forecasted temperature, because it always is. I always wear flats, preferably boots.

Thanks ladies! I guess I was overthinking it.
I'm thinking I'm gonna go with a combo of the suggestions. Long sleeve light tee for daytime. Then just go with the plastic bag and/or use one of the 20 free promo drawstring bags we have laying around and make H plan to wear all day. Ha! Then I can just donate outside the stadium before walking in
