Epulis?

We have an appointment with the vet later this week to discuss possible epulis on our boxer's gums. He'll be 6 this year, so probably due for a cleaning anyway. Anyone have first hand experience with this? He doesn't have any trouble eating right now, but his gums bleed a bit when he chews on new or hard toys or bones.

I know this is an older post but wanted to chime in that our previous dog had these pretty frequently as she got older. The vet always said it was common in boxers but she was a cattledog. He would usually remove them when she had her teeth cleaned (she also had pretty bad teeth). Luckily she never bit down on one because apparently that can be excruciatingly painful for them, but we did keep a close eye on her gums.
