s/o: What have you taught your kids about 9/11?

Have you talked to them about it? Have they learned about it in school?

I never really "taught" my daughter anything about that sad day, since she was old enough to understand. I know that the day did affect her desire to serve this Country. I am proud of her.

No, we really haven't talked about it yet. I am curious to know if they will talk about it in school.

Like 2brides, I haven't talked to E about it yet. This morning, I also wondered if they will talk about it in school today and what will be said.

I have taught him that it is his Grandma's birthday. He's too young to have any concept of what else happened that day, though.

There is a big memorial next to Carol's office that has girders from the towers, a fountain , and trees planted for everyone in the county that died that day. She has seen them and asked what they were. I have only told her they are from a building where there was a bad accident and a lot of people were hurt and died and that we remember them there.

I am sure with seeing it all the time we will have a lot more questions and discussions about it as she gets older.

I just don't think she would really understand any of it at this age.
