Morning!
Aw- I came home last night to a healthy cooked meal. DH made grilled steaks, spinach and corn. It was nice to come home, eat and go to bed lol. He even let me sleep in this morning.
I need to get the energy to get up off my butt. We have to drop his truck off at our friend's shop to get work done. We also need to do laundry.
My dog has suddenly decided that he doesn't want to sleep through the night anymore. He's been waking us up every night for the past week, wanting a bathroom break and a snack at 2:00. If we only take him outside, he keeps whining until we also give him food. We increased his breakfast, lunch, and dinner amounts and it isn't making a difference.
Has anyone else experienced this? Do dogs have growth spurts around the one year mark? Please tell me that he'll grow out of this. I need my sleep!
wanderingenough - We don't want to overfeed him, but he will truly cry from 2:00am until whenever we get up and feed him. Even if we make him wait for hours, he'll keep at it like he's starving. Feeding him more during the day has only bought us about two extra hours of sleep before he starts up. We have no idea what else we can do!
I think I've figured out the trick to drinking more water - Buy a bigger water bottle, carry it around with you, and refill it as soon as you empty it.
H got me a 40 oz Hydro Flask for Christmas, and I drink SO MUCH MORE WATER NOW. I was already drinking a good amount, but holy cow. I filled it up for the first time when I started working at 5:30am, and I just finished my third fill up of the day.

katespade I always have a bottle of water with me. That's one of the reasons I have to have a larger purse.
I have to go to Sam's club tomorrow to restock on necessities. H wants to go. I can see my bill doubling, half the stuff I planned to get not getting bought and a lot of random crap getting bought. Always happens when he is with me. At least I talked him into taking me out for breakfast afterwards.
SAD is kicking in. I'm constantly exhausted, not motivated, not hungry, and just literally sad. I haven't been taking my vitamin D because I felt so good last month. Bad bad bad. Better call for my prescription again. Hopefully it helps.
katespade, we do a potty break right before bed. We don't refill the water bowl too close to bedtime. Finally Max wouldn't wake up and cry, but would wake up and puke between 2-4 am. We found out if after the potty break, immediately we go upstairs and give him a bedtime treat (frozen banana, sometimes frozen banana with PB, or dehydrated sweet potato treats) he doesn't wake up over night.
grover - Hmmmmmm. We limit water in the evenings and he always gets a trip outside right before bed, but I hadn't thought about giving him one last snack before bed. He usually eats dinner between 8:00-9:00pm, so it just seems so weird that he thinks he needs food again at 2:00am. Maybe we can move his dinner back so he's eating a full meal earlier and then we can give him a snack at bedtime.
Could it be his food? Maybe we need to switch to a different brand or type? Are there dog foods that are more filling than others?
