Benjamin Moore Simply White. My designer friend told me its her favorite for trim and we used it all through our house (and we have a LOT of trim/built ins/wainscotting, etc) - it looks great.
I color match Glidden 90RR83/009 Pale Shadow for walls and for trim I color match Glidden Raindrop White / 30GG 83/006.
I don't know why I like their colors so much - or find it easier to identify the color I like on their template.
I also don't know about carrying the trim color through to your cabinets. I'm considering painting my cabinets white but I'm not sure I'll use the same trim color I use throughout the house on them. I hadn't considered how it would look with the trim. I guess I always thought it would be separated by wall a bit so I could treat as two different colors.
Your search for white paint reminds me of a particular Hallmark christmas movie....the guy has like six samples of different whites on his wall and can't find the perfect one. He asks his awful, sort of girlfriend for her opinion, and she looks at him like he is crazy, and says that they are the same, they are all white. lol
I am no help with a perfect shade of white, but I think kitchen cabinets matching the trim would be too much of the same white. Something different, even if it is just a slight difference, keeps it from being boring.

The only thing worse than picking the right shade of grey, is picking the right shade of white.
I just went through testing 4 different samples of white, trying to find the right one, for a room that will be all white (with a BM Thunderbird ceiling). I finally went with BM China White. Still not 100% convinced it's the right one, as it reads differently depending on the light throughout the day. I'll be using white for the trim in two other rooms, and have decided to just let my painter pick which shade of white.

sweetcheeks This sounds beautiful and I want to see it! I just painted my bathroom Thunderbird. :-)
For walls, I love Benjamin Moore Sand Dollar. It looks a little pinkish going on because primer can be grey-toned, but it reads in the room like a pure, creamy white with no yellowish tinge.
The trim is a whiter white, but I'm sorry I can't remember which one. I think it was one of the ones named previously, like White Dove or something. Save

It was your post that made me look at Thunderbird . I wanted a turquoise-y blue for my ceiling and when I saw your bathroom, ran to get a sample and loved it. It's for a 4 season sunroom, that I wanted a coastal, southern feel to, without being beachy. My sister refers to it as my "Charleston" room. I'll definitely posts pics when completed.
I just got finished having floors installed throughout the house and am taking a much needed break from having contractors in. Next up is an electrician to move some outlets and a ceiling fan, then painters. Then the contractor comes back to work on my livingroom wall, adding built-ins and a faux fireplace, and a new countertop in my kitchen.

There are lots of articles online about white paint. I like Ben Moore dove white. It's classic, goes with warm or cool.
Semi gloss preferred for cleaning and durability on trim. If you're painting, BM satin impervo is the gold standard for trim.
Ditto. All of our white is Ben Moore OC-17, White Dove. Careful to ask for White dove, and not Dove White (A SW color that is much more yellow). White Dove is jsut the right amount of creamy without being yellow, blue or stark.
I like to use the Advance paint in semi-gloss for trim work. It's much more pricy, but give a much better finish.

BM Nimbus, which is a very pale dove-grey. Kind of like the background on this website, just outside the text field. It's as white as I can go, because I absolutely hate white, and I don't like creamy, warm-toned white either.
