God, I would be the epitome of the saying "Do as I say, not as I did", if I were a parent. lol
I already felt that way when my oldest nephew, when he was 17, went to a party and got really drunk with his friends and got caught. I was all "Well, that's nothing ... er... I mean ... that's bad, Nephew!"
I just want my kid to live a little! I wish I would have, lol.
You can have some of mine. I lived too much, back then, I think. lol
I even had a small ladder that was permanently set up against one of my bedroom windows, for my 3-4 xweekly sneaking out of the house. lol

This is my fear with H. He's going to try and one up then. H was a horrible teen. I was okay.
After my sister's wedding reception back in October, my immediate family and I were all sitting around and we started telling stories to my nieces and nephews (all pre-teen to legal adult) about how bad we were as teens. It was like half "Okay, so don't do this" but half "You've gotta hear this shit". lol

Haha!!! Wow! That is impressive.
It was pretty easy because my parents' house is a one-story '50's ranch, so it wasn't that much of a drop. But I did all sorts of things, that now, I can't believe I did and got away with.
I'm not sure if it would have made me a more lax parent or a stricter one. lol
My house was the party house in high school. I only got caught twice- the first time was because the furniture did not line up with the indentations in the carpet when we moved everything back and the second time was when we literally left someone passed out in a bathroom and my parents came home when we were out. It boggles my mind looking back that we didn't get in more trouble for the second instance.
Yes! My mom and dad took off to Europe for 2 weeks when I was 17, and left me home alone with $50 for food. Looking back I sort of want to call CPS on my parents, but at the time, I was thrilled. I was a really good kid, but I was also super sociable, so hell yeah I had a party. 25 years later, I still deny it to my Mom, and it makes her so mad since she knows I'm lying lol!
The only time I had a party when my parents were gone, I was in college my group was grade school and high school friends that they all knew, and they knew I was going to have one.
The entire group of us were the biggest goody two shoes ever. We always walked the straight and narrow. My parents never had to worry about me.
My older sister and brother, though....yeah, it's been fun telling those stories to my nieces and nephews.
No my parents wouldn't leave us home alone. They would ship us to my brothers friends house and my friends house and take away our keys. Kind of silly. We were SUCH goody two shoes kids, we never would have thrown a party.
My H threw one or two huge ones. He got caught because the glass was missing from the picture frames.

No, but I have younger siblings - my sister is 10 years younger than I am, so if my parents went out of town, they always hired someone to stay with us.
I wouldn't have anyway though - I drank and partied in high school but wouldn't have wanted the responsibility of hosting.
DS1 had a party at my house when he was 19. I was out of town with ex-bf. It was very apparent out on the back deck that there'd been a party, but to his credit, he kept it pretty clean.
"Why would you ruin perfectly good peanuts by adding candy corn? That's like saying hey, I have these awesome nachos, guess I better add some dryer lint." - Nonny
Never. I'd have my bf come over though and pray I didn't get caught by the neighbors! I remember smoking cigarettes outside on my parents deck and hoping the neighbors didn't see/tell on me. Goddam nosey neighbors!

My single mom had to travel for work and I got to be in charge around age 16 when my sister was 14. I was smart and threw small parties only but we absolutely had drinking, smoking (outside? I think we didn't smoke in the house), and boys. I once spotted and hid a beer bottle approximately half a second before mom walked in the door. As far as I know, she never knew.
My group, too! We loved dressing up and cooking things we thought were fancy. Lol.
We'd always go out. I remember how cool we thought McCormick & Schmick's, The Macarroni Grill, and Il Fornaio, in Irvine, were when we were like 13. It's where our parents went for their business lunches, so we thought we were so mature going there without them. LOL
We used to have theme nights for youth group and as small group leaders, we were tasked with coming up with themes. Myself and the two other leaders decided on a formal night out. We all dressed up like it was prom and went to dinner.
I wanted Macaroni Grill but we ended up at Mimi's Diner. Lol
My parents never left us alone so no parties. Plus I didn't drink until I graduated HS because I was lame.
I do remember my friend throwing a small party when we were 19ish and someone called the cops because we were being loud outside. I hid in the bathroom the whole time they were there. They made us dump all our booze. After they left we remembered there were still jello shots in the fridge - very exciting lol

No. When I was 10 or 11, my mom's best friend's daughters threw a huge party while their parents were away. It caused over $10k in damage (cracked bathtub from a keg, carpets, furniture). While I saw my mom prevent her bff from killing her girls, I had it drilled into my head repeatedly that life as I knew it would end if I ever did that.
I never even went to an unsupervised party until college. They never left me overnight anyway.

Yes. And then one summer they weren't going out of town, so my friends collected money to send them to a hotel for a night. My brother and I had epic parties and my parents knew we always cleaned really well.

I was too boring.
I do remember my aunt saying she could always tell how big the parties her son threw by how clean the house was. Cups in the sink and pizza boxes everywhere? Couple of guys playing video games. Immaculately spotless? Kegger.
My next door neighbor did. She thought she cleaned up well. Then a beer can rolled to the front of a drawer in their credenza. We could hear the yelling in our house with the doors and windows closed.

Yes. A couple times.
One time, I had some friends over while she was out for a few hours which she knew about. She did not know that I snuck a keg into my house. I remember sneaking the keg out at 3am and being shocked that she had no clue.
