Hi all, I just discovered this board and love it! I need some recs for a foundation that will stay on all day (or a really amazing primer).
I'm currently using an oil free Mac foundation and it disappears around noon every day, I have fairly dry skin so oil free may not be the best one for me. Before that I was using maybelline fit me and that was worse.
I've tried a drug store green primer (I have redness to cover) and it does nothing. I've used a Laura Mercier primer sample and it's better than nothing but my foundation still doesn't last.
I tried the It cc cream but it doesn't come in enough colors. The lightest was too light and the next one was too dark.

I use Benefit Porefessional primer and either Periccone No Foundation Foundation serum or Estee Lauder Double Wear Light for a more flawless look. I use It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores as a setting powder, and both will last me all day.
Foundation alone slides right off my face. I need a primer and powder.

I like Chanel aqua vitalumiere and I spray my face after putting all my makeup on with La Roshe posay thermal spring water for a more dewy look. There was something the lady did at the makeup counter did to make a very nice dewy look but I forgot to go back and ask what moisturizer or primer she used. This foundation is the only one that doesn't look back on my very dry skin.
Make Up Forever has a hydrating primer that I really like. Sephora has a smaller size of it if you want to try it without buying a whole one.
I honestly think color correcting primers for redness don't work from my experience. Either they don't adequately cover the red or if they do they're super thick and don't feel right under foundation.

The LancĂ´me tient idole ultra 24 hr has amazing lasting power. I just use an the e.l.f. Mineral infused primer and I like it well enough. That foundation is awesome though.
The Lancome TIU ULTRA 24H is the best ever. My only complaint about it is that to remove it, you do have to use a Lancome makeup remover AND cleanse and tone your face to hopefully remove it all. If I wear it every day, it makes my face break out just because it is so hard to get off. I do have oily skin though, so maybe it is just a reaction that my skin has? I don`t know. I just put on a marykay foundation that I used to use before Lancome, and if I recall correctly, it lasts a pretty long time as well and it is not as hard to get off.

I don't notice it's hard to remove, but I do the 2 phase cleansing anyway - oil cleanser followed by foaming, so maybe that is essentially what you are having to do? I haven't broken out from it.

Well..I am already prone to breakouts. I think it is because I was using Clinique's foaming cleanser makeup remover and then their acne solutions soap. I believe that because Clinique doesn't have a foundation that is that long wear, it doesn't remove long wear makeup...so I think it just wasn't removing everything and was clogging up my pores.
This could have been resolved by using their micellar water and then their creme radiance cleanser, I believe. I just couldn't afford all of it.

Thanks for the great recs! Yesterday I went back to MAC since I hadn't had this foundation for long and also thought the color wasn't right. They exchanged it and the powder for a longwear formula that should be better for my dryer skin, and the color is now a lot better too. They also recommended a primer that goes better with that foundation. I'll start with that and if it doesn't last I'll start trying these recs. Thanks again!
