I loooooove my GF grill. It's such a great way to make a quick and easy meal. We have the one with the removable plates, which also makes it quick and easy to wash.
We had gotten a Cuisinart grill for our wedding (I doubt this is the exact model since it was several years ago) and it was pretty cool, really convenient, I don't think it necessarily has the grease collecting feature of GF but it was impressively self "functioning" in a way www.cuisinart.com/products/grills/gr-300ws.html
We used to use ours all the time, but haven't in forever, not sure why. They can be a pain to clean. Make sure you get one with removable plates, makes it a little easier
I used to have one and used it a lot, not sure what happened to it. These days I usually just toss a chicken breast in the oven, shred in my stand mixer, and add to salads and stuff.

I haven't used mine in years. It has removable plates, but was still kind of a pain to clean. These days I tend to use my Instant Pot when I'm pressed for time.
I still have the same one I got for a Christmas gift while in college (circa 1998-ish?). It still works great, but it doesn't have removable plates so is a bit of a pain to clean. I probably use it 1-2 times per month. There is a bit of a learning curve with cooking meat, as you can easily overcook since it uses direct heat from the top and bottom. I also use mine as a makeshift panini press, which works well.
I have one. I'm honestly not a huge fan of it for cooking meats, they tend to get dried out for me (or the outside is too done and the inside not enough if it is thick at all.) I mostly use mine as a panini press. I make a killer grilled cheese sandwich on my George, lol

I bought my mom the Cuisinart Griddler last Christmas. It can be opened flat and used as an indoor grill, which is, I think, mostly what she uses it for. She *loves* it, especially because the plates go in the dishwasher.
We have a GF, but I hate cleaning it. I'm planning on upgrading to a griddler at some point.

I have the Cuisinart Griddler. I used to use it ALL THE TIME. It's easy to clean and cooks pretty well. I like my meat on the drier side, so dryness wasn't an issue for me.
Now I prefer cooking meat in the oven, on the stovetop, or in a crockpot.
get the cuisinart griddler. SO much better. it is now the #1 used appliance in my house.
I will look this up. Why do you think it's so much better? Cost diff?
Granted, we had an older GF, but the Griddler has multiple temp controls, I find it easier to clean, and after a year of heavy use there's no sign of wear on the plates-the GF plates wore down pretty quickly and lost their non-stick capabilities despite being hand washed all the time. Also, with the ability to switch out the plates (smooth flips to the ridges, waffle plates extra) it's much more versatile. We've been going to things that will cut down on the amount of stuff in our house-we were able to get rid of the waffle iron when we had this, just like the IP got rid of the rice cooker and crock pot.
