I get that there are weird families out there, but how can they find spouses that go along with this?

Like, obviously they're really a family but like, before TLC came along they used to live normal lives. Then they approached TLC (or TLC approached them) and they all moved in together and agreed to be on the show?

Sorta like how the Duck Dynasty people used to look like this before TLC made a film tv show out of them?

1) Why only two bathrooms?? Please tell me they're at least like dorm bathrooms with 6+ toilet stalls and 6+ showers. If not, can you imagine when a stomach bug hits the house? Ugh.

2) Why are they taking everyone to the grocery store? Go to Sam's a couple of times a week.

34,000 sq ft means each family has almost 7,000 sq ft if it was divided up. That's a LOT of space, even if they're all under one roof.

Sad that they have to vote on whether someone can move out.

Ok having to be "approved" to move out? This is fucked up. This should not be something shown on TV for entertainment when people are seemingly stuck in a home against their will.

Also 25 people with 2 bathrooms sounds like there's a high probability for someone needing a pants person. Hopefully no more than 2 of them ever get the stomach flu at the same time.

There's not enough nope gifs and money in the world that would convince me it would be a good idea to live in a house that small with that few bathrooms with all of my siblings and their spouses and kids. I love them all, but I would murder someone by day 4 of not being able to pee without someone waiting outside to go next. I have 3 siblings and there's only 8 grandkids, even a holiday that requires planning ahead makes me want to lose my mind.

Yeah, I found this totally fucked up.  And after they gave them the ok to move, it comes with the stipulation that they move back when then husband is done with his residency.  WTF, I'd be gone for good, like it or not.

I haven't watched, and don't see anything in the link. Is there a reason they give for living like this? Lots of med school debt? Other bad financial decisions? Religious reasons? Even the Duggar kids move out when they get married!

Hell no to 2 bathrooms. Enough said there - but one washer and dryer? There are 2 of us in my house and we do at least 1 load/day. They must also be going to a laundry mat to do their wash and use the bathroom.

This is my question!  If you were born and raised that way and it had been drilled into your head enough that this is how it is, ok, maybe I could see how a grown person could allow a family vote to control you.  But why on earth would a person that grew up in the real world ever choose to live like that? 

It's like the people that live in the wilderness in Alaska....the Brown family.  The males in the family are all looking to find a woman, but what woman in her right mind would leave civilization to live with people that shower once a month and live in a one room shanty?  Good luck with that one.
