I was checking fb and noticed a cool light fixture posted on a local garage sale site. I scrolled down to the next picture and realized that they were taken in my old house! How weird.
I slept terribly and I'm trying to motivate myself to get out of bed. We're getting lunch today at work so I'm hoping to eat at my desk and then go walk on the treadmill. I need more exercise! I felt pretty good after walking so much on vacation, so I know exercise is a big reason I'm not sleeping well!

I'm still laying in bed. H is out of town. A more motivated person would be up getting ready before little man wakes up. That's not really my style though.
Exhausted. Night 5 of sleep training and it has been pretty rough. Need to email his pedi for advice because L just doesn't seem to understand that he doesn't need to eat every 3 hours (it's his first stretch that is the problem...he does ok after that). I really need him to start sleeping because I have only slept 4 hrs straight maybe 3 times since he was born.
It's the last day of nice weather before 5 days of rain. We need to get outside today. Might run (literally) to Starbucks with the boys and walk back enjoying my coffee.

I have a friend stopping by for a visit this morning. I'm so thrilled for her. They have been dealing with secondary infertility for 5 years with multiple losses but she's now 11 weeks! I had referred her to my RE and they discovered a blood clotting disorder.
We've gone from bitter cold to unseasonably warm. They are calling for above freezing by the weekend. Got out for a long walk with little miss yesterday. It felt so good, plus I slept better than I have in a while.
They didn't have the cell phone I wanted in stock when we went to the store this weekend so they had to order one. It's scheduled to be delivered today, and I'm annoyed that I have to sign for it. I'm worried that I won't hear them knock on the door (we don't have a doorbell) and then I'll have to wait another day for it.
Whyyyyyyy can't they just leave it at the door? My dogs are going to lose their minds when they show up!
katespade That has always bugged me. I've had them deliver it to the USPS on the way home so I could just swerve in, pick it up, then get back on the road. That was the only way I was ever able to actually get my new phone
I can't remember the last sunny day we've had. Pretry sure it's been over 2 weeks. So depressing. It's not even that cold, just gloomy and muddy and dark. I can't find motivation to leave the house even though it would probably do us good.
luv2rn4fun could it be that he really does need to eat? M especially was incapable of sleeping long stretches earlier than 10/11 months. Our pedi said if there was no improvement noticed after three nights ofnsleep training to stop trying and go back to his needs then re try in a month. We did that several times before he was ready. He had a fast metabolism and needed to eat often. So sorry it's been rough. I feel you.
katespade I hate packages with signature required. Such a nuissance.
cowgirlcutie congrats to your friend. That is wonderful.

amaranth- I really don't think so but who knows. He has home long stretches but it's not the norm. He eats well at bedtime and very frequently during the day. When he does 3 feedings/Night he wakes up not even wanting to eat...and his first few feedings aren't great (so tells me he is eating too much at night whereas he should be eating more during the day). He ate really good yesterday so I thought last night would go better. But yeah, I am very close to calling it for now...jist waiting to see what his doctor says (she actually encouraged me to try dropping to 1 feeding but he isn't ready for that and I didn't even feel comfortable trying).

C has been different then G. I noticed that with C she started sleeping longer stretches once I gave her a bottle before bed. Now I nurse her, then change her diaper and swaddle her, give her a bottle (of breast milk or formula depending if I have enough pumped) then nurse her once last time. It seems excessive but she went from 2 hour stretches to the first stretch being 3-4 hours. I think she was too sleepy to nurse enough and with the bottle she gets the milk faster so she gets filled up. Maybe L isn't getting completely full to start with?
I worked all morning. I'm probably going to do my hair and get ready, then run a few errands...but I'm so comfy on the couch doing some research and perusing ama.zon lol
My To-Do List just keeps growing... and the check engine light came on today. So hubs has to plug the reader in tonight to see what's up... I feel every time we are going out of town SOMETHING happens. I hope it's nothing!

Thanks! How much are you supplementing with? I might try this tonight. His first stretch is 3-4 hours and then he usually goes another 3- 4 and then 2.5- 3. He nurses after his last nap (so an hour before I start feeding at bedtime) and then another 20- 30 min. For awhile he had trouble nursing well at night because of oversupply issues that would make him mad. Now I have found I can calm him down with the pacifier and then he will nurse better. His MOTN feedings were pretty short before sleep training and are a little longer these last few nights (which makes sense because he is going longer between feedings). Anyways, I have 140 is of pumped milk that will likely just get donated so I might as well try this until I start solids and see if it works.

We got out for a short walk so C could burn off some energy. Then I ran the boys to Vons and Starbucks...needed corn for chicken tortilla soup and a decaf coffee! It's so nice out today...trying to enjoy it since rain is in the forecast every day (very much needed but it really has been raining a lot for here...most since 2010).
Gus is still waking up at 4:30 every morning. Nothing we've tried has worked. Earlier dinner, later dinner, extra trip outside, exercise before bed, snack before bed, sleeping in the crate, sleeping on the bed... nothing seems to make a difference. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?
luv2rn4fun I second bk1's bottle suggestion, especially since you already have some pumped. Can't hurt to try!
How is it only Wednesday? This week is dragging. Traveling today and had the new roasted beet salad at Panera. So good!!
Yeah, I am going to give it a try (assuming he will take a bottle...we haven't tried yet). How much would you give? I will be nursing around 5, bottle around 6 and then right upstairs to nurse again before bed.

I make 4 oz bottles. She will drink anywhere from 2-4 oz each night. Enough to fill her up then comfort nurse for 5 minutes or so before falling asleep.
Typing this out I might try to wake up C a bit more in the night to make sure she eats enough. She's tends to get up every hour after 4 am.
amaranth, I think it's supposed to be sunny-er the next few days? Or is it just that the temps will be higher? I heard low 50s this weekend.
I got to work a little early today, after stopping at Panera and getting 2 free bagels. Then a coworker basically said I'm a shitty coworker right now (you're welcome for the bagel I brought you.) Basically, she was annoyed that I didn't enter the first grades yet. But, I'm locked out of the gradebook every time a new semester starts until she (or my other partner teacher) each add me back to the classes. Perks of being in partner classrooms.
My last class was a bunch of punks today during a presentation given by the high school principals.
As soon as the last bell rang, the dean informs me that my car tire is completely flat. Oh, yeah, the brand new tires I bought in December. I was able to catch a ride from a co-worker that lives by me, but he leaves right away, and I had been planning on staying around work for an hour or so to get some things done.
H had a rough day too, and is out picking up McDs for dinner and Dairy Queen.

Thanks bk1ewall. I defrosted 3.25 oz so will just have DH feed 2 oz of L will take it. I can just pump this every day...i would prefer he still nurse a lot at bedtime because I enjoy that time with him. Hopefully this helps! His pedi emailed back and recommended that I try to keep it up until our appointment on 1/31. I am happy to if it works but too many more nights like these last 5 and I don't think it's realistic (I can't function on this level of no sleep). Thankfully he seems the most well rested he has been since we started so that should help tonight too...naps are closer to 40 min vs 30...every little bit helps!

I started a new crochet project tonight which is Ariel I missed crocheting and I'm glad I have these kits to motivate me more! Plus they don't take too long so I don't end up giving up when I get bored like I've done with so many blankets...
