Are there any places or airlines that are known to have good last-minute deals?
If H gets a job in the next six weeks (he has a promising opportunity...please send good vibes!), he is going to ask to start in a week, and then we want to immediately go on vacation for 4-5 days since it will be awhile before he has accrued substantial PTO. I know cruises have good deals, but I don't think airlines tend to. But everything within driving distance is kind of cold, and we'd like warmth. Or at least sunshine. We're traveling from the Chicago area with an almost two-year-old. We just did Disney World, so we wouldn't want to do that. The toddler doesn't have a passport, so a Mexico AI would be out too. I need to get him one!
I know I am putting the cart before the horse, but I am trying to think positively.
Are you still concerned about Zika? I'm pg and we looked into going somewhere in Feb and will probably visit my bff in LA to get some sun, but won't be super warm. But warmer than here in NY!

A little bit. I am currently thinking San Diego or Key West would be fun.
Without a passport you are limited. I would probably go to Florida. There are some gorgeous areas. Destin is my favorite. And, you are still in the states which makes getting ready quickly much easier as you just buy whatever you need down there.

San Diego is Great, especially with a toddler. J would have a blast. The beach, zoo, wild animal park, Leyland, sea world...so many options. We live somewhat close and might do a few days there as a short getaway if/when DH gets a new job.
