I really should have not said anything yesterday...sleep has gone back to bad. Started last night and all day today. Oh well...it was nice while it lasted. I fear it's 4 month regreasion...
Anyone made crafty, entertainment like bags for toddlers (2 yo) ideas? I am looking for things to keep C more entertained and less crazy when L is napping. Hopefully something that keeps him not needing me to play with him or read to him all day so I can get something done.
Did my errands this morning. I keep buying less and less at Costco so I may begrudgingly discontinue the membership when it expires in march. I love going there but I don't think it is saving any money because I try expensive new things.
luv2rn4fun my 2yo won't sit still long enough for those fun bag activities but my friend made a dozen of them from pinter estate tutorials with felt, buttons, etx. They are so cute!

amaranth- I will have to check that out. I quickly looked at Pinterest and saw some ideas. Now to find the time to get the stuff and make them. C is pretty good at sitting still for 20 min or so if he's really interested...he loves to master things. I need to figure something out because both of us aren't doing well how things are right now...i wish we had more help so people could get him outside more and burn all his endless energy.
DH called awhile ago. He had an unplanned meeting with HR today. She fears they are setting him up for failure with the new job opportunity and a way to get rid of him. They talked a lot and she confirmed what we suspected (new management wants her own team with people she brings in). HR highly suggested he look for something new and offered a package where he can work til end of March/mid April and then 6 weeks severance pay. This is all very stressful as it could very easily take that long or longer to find the right job (good balance, pay, etc). I think we need to have some serious talks about a backup plan...how much savings are we willing to use up if he is unemployed, when do I start thinking about going back if needed, etc. I just can't believe this is our life right now...he shared his review from last year when he got a 10% raise and this year's couldn't be any more different (even though they have zero performance issues to site) and he actually was more committed this past year than in years past.
luv2rn4fun - It's interesting that they're offering him severance as an option. Typically, that isn't an optional thing. Make sure that he gets the details about what accepting a severance package would mean. I think it's important for him to make sure it wouldn't negatively impact his ability to find jobs in the future. For example; Would their records show a voluntary or involuntary termination? What reason would they list? Would he still be able to use them as a positive job reference? Would he be eligible to file for unemployment after his severance period?

Thank you! I texted him those questions. From what DH said to me, HR wants him to leave on good terms with the company and in a way that he could use them as a reference. She said the offer had to be something he was happy with since the entire situation is unfair (really, he has grounds for a lawsuit). She even reviewed his previous performance evaluations and is in shock. They talked about what to say to a recruiter or in an interview and she said that he should state new management has come in and wants to build her own team (something to that effect).
ETA: my understanding of the package is that he can work til "x" date and then get paid for "x" weeks. Any job or pay before the end of the package makes the severance pay void. He also said they would pay cobra insurance costs for like 3 months. Basically they want him to train the new person and the find another job. He will also be free to interview when needed, no questions asked.
luv2rn4fun What a terrible position to be in. I'm so sorry. I hope it ends up for the best and he quickly finds a job he loves, near home.
Do you want to go back to work ever?
Thank you! I hope so too!
Honestly, I lived working and my job was great...flexible, good pay, low stress. And as much as I would love a balance and a break most days...i can't really imagine going back to work right now. I love having this time with my boys. Also, i don't know how we would do it...seems like my life would be really chaotic juggling work and boys while DH gets to focus on his career (since we chose his to be higher priority). I won't say I will never go back but as of today there are no plans for me to go back. At most we have talked about maybe seeing if my dad has work I can do for his business from home. But both DH and I don't want that right now unless it's absolutely necessary...i have enough on my plate with the boys and not having any help.
