Morning!
It feels weird being home today. It's suppose to snow today. We were going to go do laundry but I may make H do it by himself tomorrow 😉
As I know most of you ladies saw the dinosaur cookie jar that H wouldn't let me buy on FB or Instagram. My mom bought it and the s&p shakers for me for Valentine's Day lol. Take that H! I'm going to pick it up later but first I'm going to make some oatmeal cookies to put in it.
Another night of horrible sleep. Four month appointment and shots today so I am mentally prepared for a rough day.
Hoping we can get outside either later this morning or after nap.
DH reached out to a couple more recruiters and will talk to them today. He also consulted with someone in his department and she advised to go for more severance...she said he has a viable lawsuit and they know it so he should push for more. Hoping things start turning around soon.
luv2rn4fun - Does your H have access to an employee handbook? Usually, that will include the company's severance policy. I would recommend that he find that and see if it aligns with what they offered him. I do agree with his coworker, though. There is a reason that they're trying to make this easy for him. If they had any cause, they wouldn't bother with severance. Are you in an at-will state?

Yay pooh8402!! How exciting! Hope You get pregnant easily this time of you decide to TTC! Or will you do a FET?
katespade- yes, an at- will state. He has never had any performance issues...his previous review was stellar. His boss also confided before his review that the new high up made her change scores (lower) for him and a couple other employees. This new person was only here the last 4 months of the year. The New boss told DH she wants someone without any I Commitments that can works 12+ hour days. The company was and continues to prioritize work life balance...but that now doesn't apply to DH and his team (whereas it did when he was hired (specifically talked about and agreed to before he accepted the position) and up until this person started).
I don't know how I feel, tbh. On the one hand, I would LOVE to be pregnant right now and have another baby on the way. And we do want our kids close in age. I'm excited that DH is ready for another because he's always been more resistant to TTC than me.
On the other hand, I've got enough going on right now. I couldn't handle TTC/pregnancy on top of everything else. Plus, I'd like to be in a new job for at least 4 months prior to getting pregnant to ensure I'm eligible for FMLA.
And I always envisioned us just going straight for the FET because why not? I'd like to give at least one of those embryos a chance at life. We'll talk more tonight and I'll bring up all this.
luv2rn4fun - See, this is where my concern is. If you're in an at-will state, they don't have to provide any sort of cause to let someone go. As long as he doesn't fall into any of the protected classes, they could term him for job fit without really needing anything else to support it. The fact that HR is trying to offer him incentive to leave makes me think that there is something extra shady going on, and/or they want to get him to sign a severance agreement that includes a clause about not taking legal action against them.

HR sees that the new manager is screwing him and wants to make him happy in his exit. I do know that when the director left they have a similar proposal because he had ammunition for a lawsuit...so maybe something similar in regards to some things that have been going on with faulty accounting? DH hasn't said anything like that so I don't know that that is actually going on...but there is a lot of visibility to the team since the old upper management left and tons of money was found to be stolen from the company (from the people that left...but it was never caught by DH's coworkers).
But I agree with you...something is going on. They are oukd easily let him go and I told him he should try to get it in writing that once this agreement is made they can't before his agreed upon termination date. Honestly, I think they just want to use him to train his replacement and then let him go on his way. It's mutually beneficial. But they are also afraid of lawsuit since it has been threatened by others recently and in the past
