I'm looking for a rec for an oil cleanser. My skin is acne prone and I'm just healing from some cystic acne. The derm prescribed me with MetroGel and it seems to be working. I've been using it since the beginning of the year. Last week I picked up some Burt's Bees Oil Cleanser and it seems as though it's making me break out as I now have 3 cysts. I haven't had any since the middle of Jan and anything I did have would be small and heal rather quickly. I read that the coconut oil in the Burt's Bees cleanser can be bad for acne prone skin. Anyway, do any of you have a good rec for something that *hopefully* won't lead to breakouts?
My favorite so far has been memebox I'm Cleansing Oil #02 for oily/combination skin. Right now I am using Banila Co Clean it Zero and it's okay. It takes a lot more rinsing to get it off and I don't think it cleans out my pores as well.

I prefer straight oils as opposed to balm-to-oils, so my two go-to oils are The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Cleansing Oil (light) and Shiseido Perfect Cleansing Oil. The second one is more pricey but it's great at getting grits out of my pores.
A great oil for acne-prone skin is castor oil, but you have to mix it with another one or it's too drying. You might try 1/3 castor and 2/3 grapeseed oil. The nice thing about DIY-ing is that you can tweak the amount of castor oil based on how your skin reacts. Good luck!

If you don't use your own oils, I would check out Julep bare face. I love that stuff. It doesn't make me breakout at all. I've been using it for almost 2 years now!
Are you using a second cleanser? Oil cleansers dissolve oil, sunscreen and makeup, but if you don't use a second cleanser, all that dirty oil just sits on your face and clogs up your pores, no matter what kind you use.

This has not been my experience. I use Philosophy's and after massaging it in I use a washcloth and water to rinse it off and it seems to rinse very clean. And my breakouts/ blackheads have stopped.

Yes, I was using a second cleanser. La Roche Posay Effaclar. I did grab some castor oil and have used it once. The cysts seem to be healing so that's a good sign. I really think it was the coconut oil unfortunately.
