"Freedom of religion is a sacred right, but it is also a right under threat all around us, and the world is under serious, serious threat in so many different ways. " YES BECAUSE OF YOU, YOU FUCKING DORITO
"I just came back yesterday, from Dover Air Force Base, to join the family of Chief William "Ryan" Owens as America's fallen hero was returned home. Very, very sad, but very, very beautiful, very, very beautiful. His family was there, incredible family, loved him so much, so devastated, he was so devastated, but the ceremony was amazing."

Um, Owens is devastated at his own death?
That quote is like fucking parody of him.
Except IT IS ACTUALLY HIM
I don't know how my head can keep exploding, yet it does multiple times every day. :-|
I really wonder if all these uber-religious people who voted for "God's handpicked candidate" feel any remorse or embarrassment for their vote now.
But they're likely OK with it, since a below-mediocre white man who flat-out insults their faith is still a holier choice than a lady president or a black president. "Christian" my ass.
Today we give humble thanks for the freedoms we cherish in this country. And I join you in seeking God’s grace in all of our lives. I pray that His wisdom will give us the capacity to do right and to seek justice, and defend the oppressed wherever they may dwell.
I want to thank all of you for the extraordinary privilege of being here this morning. I want to ask you for your prayers as I continue in this awesome privilege and responsibility as President of the United States. May God bless the United States of America, and God bless all those who seek peace and justice. Thank you very much. (Applause.)
I'd love to hear Trump sing "Amazing Grace".... then tell me how Obama's not a Christian.
I cannot believe Christians that lined up behind this idiot. I can't help but continue to share the ELCA response to the Muslim ban among other things.

In my experience they are head over heels in love with him. They think he's doing god's work by banning muslims, ending abortion, and they have high hopes that he'll reverse LGBT rights. They are very proud of him and they shout from the rooftops that they voted for him.
I have no faith in these people ever understanding just how awful they really are.
Can we get a ban on Cheeto being able to give speeches -- or speak publicly at all?
I'll vote for that one.
Don't you think it helps our cause the more this fucking moron speaks? I know there will always be a contigent of assholes that support him no matter what. But the more he talks the more he can put his foot in his mouth and alienate more people.
Obama is an active Christian, but also honours his Muslim and atheist family members. His inauguration address affirmed a 'mixed belief' society, but also gave recognition to non-believers for the first time in such a speech.
He favours a clear separation of church and state, but also sees a need to engage faith groups on his social agenda and in the area of public service.
"Believe me. When you hear about the tough phone calls I'm having, don't worry about it. Just don't worry about it. They're tough. We have to tough. It's time we're going to be a little tough folks. We're taking advantage of by every nation in the world virtually. It's not going to happen anymore. It's not going to happen anymore. We have seen unimaginable violence carried out in the name of religion. Acts of wantonness (ph) (inaudible) just minorities. Horrors on a scale that defy description.
Terrorism is a fundamental threat to religious freedom. It must be stopped and it will be stopped. It may not be pretty for a little while. It will be stopped. We have seen..."

I don't know. On one teensy hand, it might help people realize what a rabid chipmunk their new POTUS is and then Bill Nye can take him in for research.
But on the other weensy hand, his fuckface is going to get us blown up someday soon because he won't STFU.
Then, on a third metaphorical hand, his voice is so torturous, my brain cells end up committing suicide rather than having to endure that kind of pain. So I guess after awhile, I won't even care what he has to say. Maybe once my brain shuts down, he'll actually start making sense to me. lol
I'm having a very hard time going from the eloquence of Obama to the baseless bravado of Trump. I wish we had an in between President - just for a few months. Some sort of transition into the verbal sewage that we now find ourselves in. Like maybe this transition president would speak only in haikus and wear a nothing but plaid. That would make the transition a bit easier for me, I think.
I just saw Schwarzenegger's response to Trump asking for prayers for him and his ratings...
How about you and I switch jobs? Then you can go back and get the ratings, and I'll take over your job and the American people can go back to sleeping comfortably again.
LOL Forever. How long until Arnold's fired?
Also, isn't it yet another conflict of interest for him to use his position during an official presidential event to ask for improved ratings, which would then make him more money? Not that anyone seems to care anymore.
So what’s behind this seeming fixation? Why does the leader of the free world care so much about a guy who starred in “Kindergarten Cop?” Here’s one “Rosebud”-like possibility for Trump’s obsession: Trump badly wanted his daughter, Ivanka, to take over the job hosting “Celebrity Apprentice” after NBC severed ties with him following his campaign-trail comments about Mexican immigrants, according to one person who spoke to the president about the matter.
Ivanka Trump, along with her brothers Eric and Donald Jr., had been mentors and judges on the show. Trump thought Ivanka would be the ideal candidate, according to the person who talked to Trump about it. Telegenic and poised, Ivanka Trump, who until recently was the executive vice president of the Trump Organization, has frequently been the public face of the family brand.
It may be that Trump never got over the network’s decision to go with another host — and seems to be taking it out on their choice.
You know, I hope that he doesn't have a paid speechwriter on staff. Because I'm ripshit about my tax dollars paying for useless governmental expenses...and Trump's speechwriter is clearly a useless position.

This is really awful and sad, but can you imagine him making calls to the family members of our lost service men and women? Obviously it's a horrible, devastating situation either way, but I feel like Trump would be unable to convey an appropriate amount of sympathy and levity to the situation.
