What are your favorite products for reducing redness?
origami, you mentioned liking some of the upscale Korean/AB products. Do you have specific recs?
I've had to step back from using so many skincare products--including masks and snail and certain serums--because my redness was getting worse and my skin was dry and peeling in spots and I wasn't sure of the culprits. I started over and am introducing things slowly.
Things that visibly improve redness: Benton High Content snail bee masks Cerave PM moisturizer Camellia oil
Things that have made it worse: BHA AHA (which makes me sad, but I'm going to try again down the line once my skin is used to retinoids) Yuri Pibu Artichoke Essence (makes me sad to admit)
I was dumb and started a bunch of new products at the same time so I don't know what is key vs what just doesn't make it worse, but here's what i get the best results with. Besides rosacea I have oily skin that breaks out with certain products, but is otherwise fine. Also fine lines.
-Face shop Pore Clean cleansing oil. -foam cleanser (I've tried several kinds and haven't noticed a difference in redness between them). I think as long as it's gentle it's ok. -skin food black sugar wash off mask. Gentle exfoliation helps me. When I drop this step my cheeks get red again. It doesn't make sense to me, based on what I understand of rosacea, but that happens. -Toner (I've used several and don't notice a difference in redness) -Essence. I use Missha's Time Revolution and I'm not sure if it does anything -Sulwhasoo's first care activating serum. I think this product is great. I'm not sure if it helps with redness or just fine lines, but my skin always looks better when I use it. I don't take it with me when I travel and I can always tell a difference. It's one to get samples of first b/c it's expensive. I just bought a new sulwhasoo serum but haven't used it enough to tell if it affects rosasea. -Paula's choice Redness Relief serum (in the morning) and the Skin Balancing super antioxidant concentrate serum (night. it's retinol). I like these. I might try something with a more powerful active ingredient later but I do like them. I have noticed that in the winter when it's super cold/windy my rosacea gets worse so I want something more powerful then. -eye cream/moisturizers: have used a few different ones and I've noticed a difference on what makes my face oily/break out, but no changes in redness. Right now I'm using Sulwhasoo's ginseng renewing cream, but I don't know if that's enough for dry skin. I like it b/c it doesn't make my face more oily. -Tony Moly hydrogel snail mask. for some reason this mask really soothes my skin, which I think helps with redness. It's not super moisturizing, but I don't need that.
Hope you find stuff that works for you!
Oh, the other thing that really helped - using that cleansing oil to clean my makeup brushes thoroughly.
