I had to start this because.....MY SISTER IS PREGNANT!
My youngest sister. She had us all convinced they were waiting. I'm so excited! I can't wait for dd to have cousins! I'm going to be an aunt!
Also, she announced to us after dd spit up all over her, sister started gagging, and I was like "I just can't picture how you'll be with your own kids." (She overreacts to everything.) Oops.
@bernadine, that's awesome your DD will have a cousin so close in age!
We decided to tell step-son about my pregnancy on Saturday night when we found out. He thought we were pulling a prank at first but is really excited now that he believes us haha. I was alone in the living room yesterday and he comes in to talk to me about his "plans" that he's been thinking about...He's going to wait til he/she is about 4 or 5 before introducing them to Star Wars, and 10-12 is when he thinks xbox is ok to play lol. We're going to wait to tell DH's daughter until we see her in person, DH thinks she might not have a good reaction so we want to do it carefully.
That's awesome! My brother and SIL are having twin girls in May and I'm so excited to be an aunt again (they already have my 6 year old niece)! I'm psyched for babies that aren't mine to take care of lol. I took today off to accompany my dad to a doctor's appointment in town at the Joslin (diabetes center). I'm glad it's not tomorrow because that's when the parade is-Boston will be a mess tomorrow.
Congrats! My middle sister and I had kids back to back for 4 years. The cousins always have a great time when we get together.
Carter is pissing me off this morning. Which makes me feel guilty, but man he is being combative this morning. He gets on the bus in 15 mins. I can make it until then. I am going to go the gym after dropping Jackson off. I need to burn off some steam plus all the alcohol and food from yesterday!
I have an interview at 10 this morning, paying almost the same salary I made at my last job, and only 15 minutes from my house, instead of an hour. Yes, please!
I got my hair dyed/highlighted yesterday by a friend (not currently working, but trained/licensed for hair), and I keep freaking myself out when I look in the mirror. My hair took the color better than expected, so it's redder than we intended, and the highlights are more pronounced. It was a bit of shock initially, but I think it's growing on me.
I desperately need more weekend. This weekend was fun, but almost nothing got done around the house, and we're hosting a weekly dinner with friends on Wednesday. Need to clean, and finish purging outgrown toys so friends with younger kids can "shop" before we donate the rest.
Ugh I'm laying in bed, showered and all but not dressed waiting for my director or assistant director to text me back. I told them I'd rather not come in today bc I had a migraine all night and barely slept plus I've been feeling nauseated on and off all morning. But I think we have a busy schedule this morning and I just want their ok. I have about 10 more minutes before I'd have to get up, get dressed and leave.
I woke up suddenly in the middle of the night with the feeling that I was about to throw up. Twice it happened then my stomach settled. So now I'm dragging today and still not feeling quite right but not bad enough not to be here at work
I was supposed to have my annual gyn exam today but I started my period this weekend. I called and they rescheduled me for APRIL. So uhh, here's to hoping there's nothing wrong with me!
That's awesome Bernadine, congrats to her. kitkat1502, so cute about your SS! Hoping the talk with your SD goes well.
I just did a biometric screening here at work (and got a $50 premium discount for it, yay) and the phlebotomist who drew my blood had to fish around in my arm because she thought she had my vein but didn't. Now my arm hurts and I'm cranky. Also, the guy who did my weight/height/BP asked me how far along I am, and I said "I'll be 30 weeks on Thursday" and he rolled his eyes and said "I'm going to write 29 1/2 weeks." OK, sorry dude. Apparently everyone is having a Monday.
My sister and brother-in-law have been giving us furniture since we moved into our new house, because they have a bunch of pieces that are in great shape just sitting in their basement. So far they've given us a media cabinet, a hall table, a hanging coat rack, and a wall-mounted bookcase for the nursery, and now they are giving us a changing table/dresser combo and a chair for the nursery, as well. They have saved us so much money and I wish I could figure out how to even half repay them.

Somehow, between arriving at my SIL's house yesterday and when we tried to leave, I lost my car key. it's a keyless start, so I know they aren't anywhere inside the car. Which means they have to be in the house. We looked for forty five minutes, then FIL drove us home, H got his set of keys and went back. He's so mad at me, because he didn't get to sleep before work. My key still hasn't turned up.
And David had a fever in the middle of the night, and Lucy does now.
So obviously, the stress thing is totally working out 😢

I've had to reschedule mine for the past 3 months because of starting my period. My cycles are wonky so scheduling them for different times of the month doesn't help. I go this Thursday so fingers crossed my period doesn't decide to show between now and then!
Since we're talking babies, my almost 2YO niece cracks me up. She has resting baby bitch face and when it isn't resting it's because she's straight up pissed. She threw my husband a look the other day when he got close to her that literally made him back out of the room. I need to meme her.

I am working from home today. I couldn't get it together enough to put on real clothes. I had a horrible time sleeping last night, and then I had terrible dreams when I did sleep.
My husband works on base at Macdill. 45 is there today. I made my husband promise to flick him off for me (with his hand in his pocket because we can't afford him getting fired)

Yeah, I started early and the reschedule may be the first day of my period in April. WTF? This has never been an issue before.

I'm sorry @professorartnerd that really sucks.
We are trying to decide whether to send DD to public or Catholic school. We went to an open house of the Catholic school I like in the area. The distance is a concern but the school seems really nice. And my old principal is there which is fun. I went to Catholic school and there are things I really liked and really didn't like about it. I feel conflicted. Open house for the public school is in May but I'm just surprised we are already at this stage of deciding schools (DD doesn't start until Fall of 18 so we do have some time).
I'm irrationally annoyed at DH. He kept DS home from school because he said his belly hurt. He is showing no symptoms, was 100000% fine yesterday and his temperature was only 98.3 this morning. I might be a hardass, but I'm always of the mindset to go to school and if you don't feel any better after lunch, then we'll talk about going home. DH took today off anyway, so it's not like I'm inconvenienced at all by this, but I hate when he misses school unnecessarily.
Of course, if he does end up with the flu, I'll feel like the worst mother ever. But we'll cross that bridge if we get to it.

Exactly the same situation here. Was up late watching the game, then it took forever to fall asleep. I had crazy nightmares once I actually DID fall asleep, and then my 3-year-old came into my room twice to tell me her "bum hurts" (she's got a rash).
Yup, working from home even though I'm on conference calls all day. Plus I got my period so yeah, I'm struggling today.
We asked MIL to watch the kids for us for a few hours this Saturday and have yet to get a firm answer. It's infuriating. Either you will or you won't. Knock off all the non-committal bullshit and answer us so we can confirm or cancel plans. It is the first time since we got here in December that we have asked her and we are gone in a few weeks, so it's probably the only time. (Disclaimer: I know she doesn't have to, she's welcome to say no. I just want a damn answer.)
I have jury duty. Literally nothing has happened the past hour, just a big room full of people getting antsy. Now I know why everyone hate it. On the flip side, I kind of hope I get chosen just to make my boss sweat a little. She suggested I try and get out of it by using my work situation as an excuse (I'm the only doctor in the office twice a week and the only one there late twice a week; no patients can be seen if there isn't a doctor there). I hate the fact that I'm so pressured to never take time off for any unscheduled reason, like sickness or child sickness.
Now they just released us until 1:30, lol. Now I have to find something so do for the next 2.5 hours.
It snowed 5.5" overnight in the Seattle area and it's still coming down! Good thing H can work from home cause the roads are probably a huge mess. (I grew up in eastern WA state where we got lots of snow and it's not such a big deal. Here, the cities shut down.)
I was feeling better, quite positive, after a good weekend and a cathartic talk/cry with H.
BAM, our friend who had his first kid two weeks before my due date first miscarriage around just announced he's having a second. This is exactly when we were looking at announcing if this one had stuck (would be 13 weeks).
That ultrasound picture was like a kick in the gut.
The credit card we use for the majority of our household spending had the number stolen somewhere, and Chase didn't figure it out. I noticed when I logged in to Mint. Geez they decline legitimate charges all the time for possible fraud, but don't think that spending $500 at Carrabba's several time zones away is a red flag. smh
As I need to go to all the same places (grocery store, gas station, lunch, and a parking garage) I went last week with that card with a different card today, I'm not optimistic about the second card's future.
I have strep again. I feel ok, but not 100%. Waiting for the antibiotics to do their thing. DH suddenly has the plague. His crappy doctor rarely has same day appts so I told him to go to urgent care. He said in another 30 minutes.
Dude I love you, but we are not having a sick contest. Go to the doctor and get some meds!
