I remember a year ago you mentioned having an irritable uterus. Did it act up with all of your pregnancies? Did your doctor require bed rest for each?
I'm just trying to figure out how that works. I can't imagine spending another month on the couch with a toddler. Since I didn't go into labor until 2 wks after bed rest ended, I still wonder if it was ever necessary.
So how do they judge the difference between preterm labor and just an irritable uterus? Frequent cervix checks for progression? I had timetable moderately painful contractions for weeks before dd showed up. I was on meds but who knows if they were necessary.
Did your cervix ever shorten? I have a friend who has horrible "false" labor with her kids - painful timeable contractions for months and months, but her cervix holds out (it's usually her BP that skyrockets because her body can't take it any more).

Hi there. You might be thinking of someone else, not sure. I do have tons and tons of BH during pregnancy that are timeable and painful. They usually last for an hour then stop. Each pregnancy they start sooner and sooner. My OB has never put me on bedrest. The only real concern I have is because I am c-s patient I worry about going into active labor and rupturing. Last pregnancy I went in once before 37 weeks to be checked and there was no progression and cervix was fine. Each pregnancy I have gone all the way to 40 weeks. The BHs are annoying but that is about it.

From what you have written, you are probably just prone to having lots of BH. I have heard that calcium with mag can help, so I might try that if I get PG again. Knowing what I know about my experience, I wouldn't take meds or agree to bedrest.
