Any experiences with the over the counter version?
UPDATE
So I've been using differin OTC for four weeks on my T zone (My problem area has always been cystic and hormonal acne on my chin). After week one my skin was clear and I was hoping this was my hg.
By week two chin acne was back with a vengeance.
Weeks 2-4 my chin acne was more painful and was spreading to around my nose.
So after directed use 4 weeks out my face is worse imo. Any anecdotes? From reviews this can be expected so I'm just going to keep on.
Final update: at 5 months in my skin is CLEAR and it's never stayed this clear for so long. I've also been taking evening primrose oil supplements to help my skin around the same time so I'm just going to keep doing both.

I'm using it. I think I went overboard the firs week using it every day. I thought I'd be fine because I already use AHA, BHA and Vit C regularly but it caused major flaking.
I've scaled back but I'm still seeing results. My nose is my problem area as far as sebaceous filaments go and it looks 10 times better. I'm going to keep it up, probably just using every 3rd day for a while until I know I can handle more.
Question though...is it also good for anti aging or more for acne? I'm still considering a script for tretinoin but wanted to get started with this because I just keep putting off making an appointment.

I can't speak about differin, but I've been on tretinoin for 4-ish months and lately I've been getting TONS of compliments on my skin. My friends and strangers alike keep asking what I use, my brow wax lady commented how smooth my forehead was, etc. Strongly recommend it. I don't think there's anything OTC that could possibly be as effective as this stuff.

I love to hear this! I'm finally able to tolerate it. Do you use any other actives? And what moisturizers or essences do you use?

I use AHA (Mizon 8% peeling serum) and BHA (Stridex red) every once in awhile but now that I've adjusted and am seeing good results with tret, I use it almost every night. I don't double up anymore - with wait times, it just gets too late in the night.
Moisturizers/essences/etc: I was using Pixi Glow Tonic but didn't really notice anything from it by the time I finished the sample bottle I had. Now I'm trying Moistful Booskin. I also do Cosrx Snail 96 Mucin, Scinic Snail AIO, then I sheet mask almost every night, then I use Miss Flower Mr Honey cream and Laneige water sleeping mask. During the day, instead of sheet mask and heavy creams, I use Sunday Riley Tidal. I live in a really dry climate so I'm extreme on moisture. When I started tretinoin, I actually used vaseline on my face also.

You're waxing?!? Dude, you need to stop. Tret thins your skin and waxing will rip the skin right off! Eyebrow scabs are not pretty. Ask me how I know - lol. I actually did that to myself TWICE before I figured out what was going on. I thought the wax was just too hot the first time. Nope. I switched to threading.

OMG I got scabs a couple months ago and thought it was the wax! It hasn't happened since but thanks for the info.
