I'm doing better then the last few weeks. I'm going to get my workouts in this week, no excuses. I have to wake up early to do them since I'm too tired after work.
I made a weekly meal plan binder and a health and fitness binder. No excuses that was. The h&f binder I have to write in daily so I hope seeing progress will motivate me to work harder.
I actually did pretty well this week. I did 30 minutes of yoga every day, and I've been making better food choices. I managed to get through two trips to the grocery store without buying anything that wasn't on the list (i.e. junk food), and I haven't had soda in 16 days.
After work today, I'm going to sign up for my gym membership.
I FINALLY worked out for a whole week. I cancelled our gym membership! I've been strength training at home and (so far) it's going so well! The only day I missed last week was Tuesday. Which was planned.
I am going to the grocery store this morning and going for healthy food, then I'll chop veggies etc for healthy snacks to take to work and eat at home!
I've been doing a daily yoga challenge in IG, where you post a picture of yourself doing whatever pose is assigned for that day. The first few days were great. I felt empowered and awesome that I was participating. Then the poses started getting more difficult, and the past few days have been really difficult for me. Each day has been a little bit worse, and I ended up sobbing last night because I couldn't do the pose correctly. I feel like it has just completely destroyed my self-esteem.
On the one hand, I want to quit because it's having such a negative impact on me. On the other hand, I worry that the negative impact would be worse if I don't finish what I started. There are only three days left, and I can't decide what to do.
H was incredibly supportive and talked me through my freak out last night. He coached me through the problems I was having and helped me make improvements until I was able to do an acceptable version of the post and we got a decent picture.

Last week was GREAT for me in terms of workouts. I got 4 days in a row, despite all the programming seeming very upper body focused. I was sore by the end. My weight was up a bit this morning, but we did a lot of celebrating this weekend for H's bday. I'm sure it'll end up back around normal in a couple days.
travelbug - You are kicking butt with the leg workouts. I've been following your posts on IG.
katespade - Go easy on yourself! 1) There are no yoga challenge police. I've been following your posts and all I think to myself when I see them is "she looks awesome!" If you can't do the pose, pick a different pose that you can do. Nobody following your posts/hashtags/challenge etc. is going to see it and say "that isn't the EXACT post for day 5." You've got to offer yourself a little bit of grace.

katespade yoga is hard! I can do all of 5 poses. I'm jealous of your daily pictures! Give it time. As you do it more the more flexible and stronger you will become and will have no problem doing any of the poses. I give you a lot of credit, I can't do yoga. I tried many times but I'm too fast paced. Plus I giggle while doing it. I'm secretly a 12 y.o in a 33 y.o body when I try to do yoga. Even worst when you try it with 10 really hot fireman. I made sure I was in the back of the class for that 😉
I made it to 2 classes last week, and went on 2 runs.
I've upped my water intake. But I need to work better at not drinking pop and eating junk food. (A huge downside to living with the ILs, they always have junk food here.)

Yell at me ladies! Why is it so hard to wake up early to workout? I slept through my first alarm, the one I set early so I could workout. I'm going to have to set multiple alarms lol.
Edit: I'm an idiot! My phone was on silent so I never heard it go off.

I'm doing fairly well with my eating, I've been slowly losing weight just by tracking and keeping things in check.
My goal is to start working out again. Outside of walking, I have not done anything else for a really long time. My challenge is finding time when I have enough energy (those 2 things don't usually happen at the same time)
wineandcheese, wanderingenough - Thank you for the support. Logically, I know that what you're saying makes sense. I just need to convince my brain to agree with logic. lol.

travelbug - girrrrrrrl, since I know you are on a leg/booty kick: i did some jump squats and jump lunges yesterday and i FEEL them. I can tell my booty is growing. haha! you need to try them!
wanderingenough YAaaasssss! Doing those TODAY!!! I love me some squats!!!! I think my body needs a variation! I was up yesterday to a 1min25sec plank! #progress
Has anyone taken a spin class? I kind of want to try it, but my cardio is currently terrible and I'm afraid that I'll die and/or embarrass myself. Any advice/insight?

Yes! I think you would like it a lot more than the recumbant bike (honestly -- I don't know how you do that ). The great thing about spin is you control the difficulty. I think it's actually a great intro to classes, because as opposed to something like a step class where everyone can tell if you are struggling, that's not really the case in spin. You control the resistance and speed. As for tips/advice -- 1) Show up early and tell the instructor you are new. (S)he can help you set up the bike. The peddles/seat/handles will need to be adjusted to your height, etc. 2) Your hooha will hurt during/after the first few times. It'll almost feel bruised. You get used to it. 3) Lots of water!

This is great information! Thank you! Knowing that I can control the difficulty without it being obvious is great news. What do you recommend wearing? Yoga pants? Running shorts? Tank top? T-shirt? Loose clothes? Tight clothes? I'm not used to working out in front of people, so I'm feeling very self-conscious about this whole thing.
There was 6" of snow and then pouring rain so I didn't get out for walks as much (I think only twice). I'm continuing to drink 9-10 cups of water a day and eat healthy. I'm slipping a bit with the snacking but I'm keeping it mostly nuts & raisins. Need to do better!

katespade - People will be wearing it all. So you'll be fine no matter what. I found myself to be most comfortable in yoga pants/workout leggings and a tank top. All fitted stuff.
Remind yourself that starting fitness classes can make the most extroverted person feel self conscious. There's really nothing to worry about though. People aren't kidding (especially in something like spin) when they say that no one is paying attention to you. Bonus - a lot of times they dim the lights!
I stepped on a scale today for the first time since December 23rd! I am down 25 lbs!!! How is this possible?!? I am officially 5lbs lighter then pre pregnancy! OMG! I've been trying to get down to my weight from before ttc and now I'm only off by 10 lbs!
