I thought Wills and Kate were waiting until after the Jubilee, Olympics, and then he was going to be deployed this fall?
I read that he has until the end of this year to decide whether he'll re-enlist or become a full-time working royal (which would probably mean a baby).
IDK if William can actually be deployed. Not to an active war zone, anyway ... I know he was sent to the Falklands for a few weeks earlier this year. I'm pretty sure he can't go to Afghanistan like Harry.
I've been married a year longer than them and we aren't planning on even thinking of kids for about another year. I'm glad they're taking their time - they're still pretty young and there's no rush to produce an heir (not that that should matter in this day and age anyway).
All of the rushing into marriage with a "suitable partner" and pumping out babies right away is probably what fucked up the older generations of royals. Hopefully they know enough by now to butt out of the younger generation's lives and let them marry who they want and have kids (or not) on their own timetable.
Let her be a girl child. And then Britain can come to the right of female primogeniture like, er, Sweden just did?
Yes, when are they going to get around to this already?
They already did. It's in effect for direct descendants of Prince Charles, so it'll favor the older daughters of William and Harry over any younger sons W&H might have.
But it won't affect the claim of someone like Princess Anne or Lady Louise who are stuck behind their younger brothers. They're not grandfathering in anyone who's already got a place in line.
Sweden actually DID grandfather in Victoria, though. Victoria was firstborn, then her younger brother Carl Philip (side note: yum) was named Crown Prince. Then a few years later they switched to equal primogeniture and made Victoria the Crown Princess. Apparently the king was pissed that the title had been taken from his son.

I bet she rarely drinks because she has to be in.complete.control.all.the.freaking.time. As much as I would love access to the jewelry, I don't know if this is worth it for me.

Damn, Carl Philip is hot. Freaking Nordic countries and their ridiculously hot and tall people.
I admit, I was hoping Kate would get pregnant before I did, then have a boy and I would have a girl so my kid could dream about being a princess like I did, hehe. William's older than me by almost a year, I think. I could have gone to St. Andrews on study abroad and been the same year as he was (he did a gap year before starting university). I decided to go to Edinburgh instead - too many giddy girls going for that reason.
I thought the same thing! He should honor is mother.
Royal children get like 6 names. They could put in a whole mess 'o names.
I think they have to run it by the monarch first, so IDK if the queen (or Charles, if they don't give birth during her lifetime) would "approve" of Diana being the first name. But who knows.
And I read recently that the children of William and Kate (if they are born during QE2's reign and not Charles' reign) may not be automatically entitled to be referred to as "His/Her Royal Highness Prince(ss) XYZ," since they would be the great-grandchildren of the monarch and the guarantee only extends to grandchildren. I think this goes back to the Letters Patent of 1917: www.royalinsight.net/behind-palace-walls/letters-patent-1917
But it says that an exception is made for "the eldest living son of the eldest living son of the Prince of Wales," which would be William's first son (or maybe daughter, with this new equal primigeniture law coming up). And the monarch can of course do whatever (s)he wants with that sort of thing.
That's going to be interesting if Harry has children during the queen's lifetime, because they're not automatically entitled to be HRH Prince(ss) XYZ and they probably don't "need" to receive those titles since they likely won't be in the direct line of succession assuming William has kids. And they want to slim down the number of high-ranking family members anyway. Makes you wonder if she'd make an exception for his kids to be fair, or if they'll just be Lord/Lady Whatever.

Yes, I'm sure the Royal Family has quit with the pressuring with the marriage and kids. But Kate is going to be 31 in January, and I've heard them say in interviews that they want several children. All things considered, I wouldn't be waiting any longer if I were them.

I'm the same age as Kate and Wills, and this makes me sad. :-(

Eh. I had my 1st at 34, my 2nd at 36 and I would have another if I wasn't pretty sure I'll end up as guardian of my sisters kids. I know women who had their 1st in their 40s. AMA is, to some degree, a lot of BS.
