Philip Pullman has announced a new trilogy that he's calling a companion or "equal" to His Dark Materials, called The Book of Dust. According to the NPR article the first book will take place when Lyra is a baby, and the next two will take place when she's in her twenties, but that you won't have to have read the other trilogy to enjoy this one.
I'm intrigued. I enjoyed the trilogy, but it's been years since I read it, and it wasn't something I ever bothered to re-read so maybe I'll do that later this year.
Cool! I really enjoyed the golden compass. I will say the second 2 books, while interesting, annoyed me because Lyra kind of devolved as a strong lead in what'shisname's shadow. But I'm definitely interested in more books involving her!
