I can't behind the rainbow pastels. They look awesome on the models but it's not something I could pull off in real life. I will admire all the pastel shimmery palettes though and wish I could pull it off.
I can't get into the blush bomb either. Probably just too high fashion for me because I feel like it's something I could not pull off in real life.
Most of what's new, I'm not really into. I like that the glowy look is getting more natural looking versus BAM LOOK AT MY SUPER INTENSE HIGHLIGHT.
Maybe this will be the year I perfect and rock my bold lip with confidence.
I feel sheepish admitting this, but as a 40-year-old woman, I dig a lot of the trends, like amethyst highlighting and water color pastel eyeshadows, but I don't think they'd do anything for me but make me look older and/or trying too hard.
The edgiest/trendiest look I'm up for is using berries and rusts in my eyeshadows.

I'm so never trending and I don't think at 48 I'll start now. But some of the looks would be lovely if I was 20 and I'm sure I'll see it on the London streets.

The blush bomb looks so pretty, but nothing is every even attempt.
I love the pastels but I've now tried two palettes and they just have crap pigmentation. I bought Mac's pastels X 9 last year and only ended up using two colors. This year I bought the Lorac brunch palette against my better judgment and returned it already. The pigmentation was lacking and it looked really muddy when layered. I've looked up some pastel singles on temptalia and they are never good.
I'm just excited for the workout makeup trend because MAC is bringing back scented Fix+. I just ran out of my old one yesterday, too, so it's perfect timing.
Lisa Eldridge basically did that blush bomb thing as part of her David Bowie makeup, but it looks way a bit more wearable (or at least adjustable to wearable):
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain
I was looking at the spring palettes that are coming out and couldn't believe how many neutral ones there are. How many warm, neutral palettes can you possibly need.
It looks like in approximately 95% of those pictures, the women are either not wearing mascara or wearing it very, very lightly only on their top lashes.
I guess invisible lashes are in this spring. I could do it, I'm just not sure I want to!

No, mascara is automatically part of my day. I look slightly alien like without it.
