I'm 46 and started tracking my period about 5 months ago to see if I was losing my mind or if it was indeed whacky. This month I had a day of heavy spotting and when I checked my app it said that my period wasn't supposed to start for 8 days!!! Then nothing for about 3 days and now just mild spotting. Are you any of you experiencing this? Is this an early sign of menopause?
I can't help you as I have the Mirena. However, I'm your age and for the last 3 months, I seem to having some kind of period whereas I have had no bleeding or spotting for the last 9 years!

My period is awful now. I might have a HUGE bleeding day then trickle, then a medium day a few days later. I might just have a normal period. And I might have a light period. I also get a day or two where I have a light bleed in the middle. It's insane, I rarely know when it's coming and I hate it. I honestly wear a light daily pad just in case. I can't wait for my period to go away. I started this at 46/47. I'm now 48.

I'm so glad to hear this from all of you. My periods were always like clockwork growing up. Since I turned 46 they have been so irregular! Some months I skip completely, some months I bleed for 6 weeks straight (some days heavy, some days super light), and then sometimes I just bleed a little bit every couple of days. I have resorted to wearing a liner everyday, too- because I never know when it's going to start!
Yesterday I got a headache that would not go away. My period was heavy as well. Now that it has eased up so has my headache. I'm ready to be done with this. Think of the money I'll save not buying tampons and pads!
I always had short-ish cycles when not on the pill. A few years ago, I started getting my period every 19 days or so. I would have a heavy day, then it would lighten up, and then suddenly get super heavy again (as in bleed through my pants heavy). There was no way I could take this for several more years. I went back on the pill and hardly get my period at all now. It's fabulous! I'm 45.
I'm 47 and have been going through wacky periods for about 3 yrs and I have a Mirena and I take estrogen. I went 8 months with no period at all. I thought 'yay.... No more periods'. Then last month I got my period and it was fairly heavy for a full 2 wks, then 2 wks of nothing and now I've had my period again for a week so far. They say 12 mos with no period means you've hit menopause. So now I get to start the countdown all over!
I have an appointment in 2 weeks. The receptionist made sure to tell me that there should be no vaginal insertion for 48 priors to the appointment. I told my husband this and he started asking kinds of questions.

The might end up doing an endometrial biopsy especially if you have had breakthrough bleeding more than one month. If it has had been whacky just one month they will probably just monitor. Last summer I started my perdions like 10 days early and then again when I was due. That only happened once and then it went back to it normal cycles.
